ip address and email

hi,
anyone know how to find out my 'real' ip address?
the reason i ask is i've just had an email bounced due to my ip address being high risk 'This IP address is used for sending Spam on a regular basis'
the people i sent to are using this company http://miracare.mirapoint.com/checkip.html
anyway wanted to check it out
if it's correct it's implying i have a zombie, although it's not been found by my AV prog.

BTW the site in your link reports my IP as 'suspicious'

More fundamentally unless you are operating your own email server then the IP address in question is one of Plusnet's email servers I believe

hmm... just spotted that my static ip address had been disabled, in fact i thought i had 2
wonder if that happened when i changed to pro a few months back?
anyway fyi 212.159.7.35 has been spamming people
hmmm... what is my ip doesn't seem to reflect my ip properly?
also i put this on the fttc forum as it's related as i do not know how to get this info from my modem anymore...

well if thats plusnet email server then they need to get in touch with someone and sort it out..

Does the bounce give any indication of the IP address
Under properties you might find something like
Received: from [212.159.7.97] (helo=mx.pcl-ipin01.plus.net)
 by inmx16.plus.net with esmtp (PlusNet MXCore v2.00) id

It's not the first time PNs mail servers have been blacklisted.

I think a lot of the time it's taking entries in those databases as gospel rather than advisory.

Hey guys,
I've had a look into this, Looks like it's listed at http://access.redhawk.org/dbq.php
I'll flag this with the network guys and get them to investigate
I'm sure someone in Digi Care will keep you posted.

Any news on this? I checked the Service Status page this a.m. as I've just had an email to XXX@btconnect address rejected:
"The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'Message rejected due to sender IP reputation ([212.159.7.35]); see http://miracare.mirapoint.com/checkip.html '"
So I checked at miracare and got:
IP Query Result:
IP Address: 84.92.111.11
Risk Level: Suspicious
Description: This IP address has not been detected as an email source recently
I'm not sure what that means?

The IP address you checked is your IP address which isn't relevant
The problem address is the Plusnet email server address 212.159.7.35
