my broadband has been activated i can send emails but the people i sent them to cannot send them back to me saying the delivery failed permanently from their end

Have you set up the email address correctly in your mail client? It should be anything@username.plus.net if you have a catch-all email.

@paulat Are you using an email client on the computer, or Plusnet's webmail?

plus.com not plus.net? The setup documents say it should be username.plus.com.
My email doesn't work so I'm just looking for clues!

The default email address is usually firstname@username.plus.com where firstname is the first name of the account holder and username is (you guessed it) the user name for the account.
The Manage My Mail tool https://portal.plus.net/manage_my_mail shows mailboxes (including catchall if active) that are set-up for the account.

My bad, I'm with F9 so mines @username.force9.co.uk so I figured plusnet would be @username.plus.net cause it makes more sense to me
