We are not seeing DKIM failures in the rejections from iCloud.
Starting last year and continuing we repeatedly see this from iCloud :
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 5.7.1 [BS01] Message rejected due to local policy.

@redsox9 I know it is only a one-person check, but a test message to my two iCloud accounts worked perfectly.

I find iCloud accepts individual mailings from Plusnet servers but not group mailings.

Fair enough - I don't do group mailings very often, and those I do don't include iCloud addresses.

I just tried four attempts from main account and alias, with and without attachments. one with plain text. two bounced back into my inbox... two bounced back into my spam... what kind of logic is that?!

There isn't any, but don't forget we are dealing with a program written by someone with no idea how to do so. Fortunately, i am migrating away from this fiasco at pace.
I must admit, though, for me it is working as I expect - I have had no issues.

Ok... so can anyone interpret this response I got from Apple?
Hello
Thank you for your message.
As a best practice please enable authentication such as DKIM, DMARC and SPF.
We currently see that DKIM = none meaning no dkim is published for your subdomain above
DKIM: none
<Authentication-Results, value=dkim-verifier.icloud.com; dkim=none>
Please visit our postmaster support article at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204137 for information on our recommended best practices.

What is being done about this? It's been going on for many months now. Is there any meaningful discussion ongoing with Apple?
As usual, there are many who are seemingly not affected but there are so many who are - why the difference if we all have <name>@<subdomain>.plus.com addresses?
All I get is:
554 5.7.1[BS01] Message rejected due to local policy. Please visit https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204137.
The attachment to the NDR merely repeats that. The link goes to an article about sending bulk email but of course, as far as the user is concerned, he/she is (usually) sending just to a single icloud address.

@abitpedantic I'm not party to information about any possible discussions with Apple although I assume they are occuring.
The reply from Apple in @EBenny s post above doesn't make sense though since DKIM is present for all plus.com subdomains
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

You say "DKIM is present for all plus.com subdomains"
Here is an extract from a typical failure message that I've been getting from attempting to send to gmail addresses.
Authentication-Results: mail.enmail.co;
dkim=none;
dmarc=fail reason="No valid SPF, No valid DKIM" header.from=enmail.co (policy=quarantine);
spf=none (mail.enmail.co: domain of cataleia.gateway.enmail.co has no SPF policy when checking 213.5.176.173) smtp.helo=cataleia.gateway.enmail.co
Why do Apple and Google see it differently?

Are you sending via relay.plus.net ?

My reply to Apple:
Hi
I posted your response on the Plusnet Community forum and they said it doesn't make sense since DKIM is present for all plus.com subdomains.
I am not sending bulk emails. Just trying to send a test message to my @icloud.com account.
Is Apple actively in discussions with BT/Plusnet/Enix/Greenby about this?
Who is responsible for fixing this?
Thank you

Their response:
Hello,
Still we notice DKIM is none for this domain.
Can you please have your email administrators check your SPF / DKIM / DMARC settings and ensure that mail sent from your domain has valid DMARC signatures in accordance with the DMARC policies that you have defined for your domain.
As you can see we are not able to validate your SPF and DKIM records:
name=Authentication-Results, value=dkim-verifier.icloud.com; dkim=none)

I am using IMAP:
Incoming: mail.enmail.co Port 993
Outgoing: mail.enmail.co Port 465
This is the settings the Greenby helpdesk told me to use when I had problems initially. It all works ok... just the icloud issue.
