couple of points that probably apply to quite a few of the long term customers.
1 Twenty years ago it was "the norm" for ISP to have email provided (even if still dial up!) using ISP address as part of email address.
2 The current issues are with a "paid for" service albeit current with cost covered by Plusnet. So we are CUSTOMERS of Greenby weather or not by choice or having legacy email addresses .
I stayed with Plusnet as their service was always very good but obviously ill now start migration elsewhere.

"obviously" ?
Well, I'm starting to look at this this way: The more people leave Greenby (for whatever real or imagined reasons) the lower the load on the Greenby hosts and the better the service will become for those who remain. 😎

Since Plusnet is positioning itself as "broadband only", the clearest differentiation over many other suppliers is price. They would argue about quality of service too, but it's not easy to judge whether that will remain competitive.
So it's obviously sensible to shop around for the best deal.
Personally, I've just renewed for two years with Plusnet, because I have legacy products which haven't yet migrated to Greenby. In two years time, they will no doubt have migrated, and at some point Greenby will start charging. At that stage, I will have two different suppliers, and will be looking at the best competitive options for both.
In anticipation, I've already started migrating emails to an alternative.

Would be my position only BT cut me off in my prime last August 1st (their fault - someone up the road moving to sky - not us) so plus.net simultaneously closed accounts. Reconnected after a fashion thanks to the good guys on here but all legacy benefits gone. By the by just noticed a rarely used account received 100s of spam "unable to deliver" emals last night - one evry every 2-3 minutes: no idea what that signifies but I doubt it bodes anything good. If it wasn't for this forum I'd have gone mad long since.
