Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I won't have a record, I'm only a forum member like you. Having tried the number, I  suspect it is an 'outbound only' line.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

PLUSNET: Thanks for getting in touch this afternoon; I'm sorry that you've not had any confirmation from Greenby about the migration of your emails and they are currently not working. I've requested that Greenby give you a call around 4:30pm on Friday to discuss the account and also the Thunderbird settings

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Dunno what's going on with your situation. But I was asked to pay a subscription after 30 days, yet I have a PlusNet broadband account. I talked to PlusNet and a Ticket was raised with Greenby. They're looking into it. I provided the info they asked for (it's sitting on every Bill I've received for years now but let not staring-you-in-the-face facts get in the way): "Please note that this verification process may take some time. In the meantime, there is no need to worry about your service expiring due to payment delays, as we are not suspending accounts at present." - 12 March 2026. My email is still working after more than 30 days, so either they're true to their word (and are still trundling through their verification process) or they've resolved my issue (but haven't told me).

@sjmartin60 Was that this afternoons response or the earlier one. BTW, you should not have to change anything in your mail client.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I'm still getting emails to my Thunderbird mail client from PlusNet - but 90% of it is SPAM..

And yes, I am a broadband customer...

Been with PlusNet for over 20 years or so....!!!

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I never received the email telling me about the transfer.  (I religiously check my spam folders, etc. BTW).  My email was then cut off on 5th April.  Apparently that was because I was supposed to have received the email a month before that.   Having had a LOT of trouble even finding how to log in/create an account or whatever -  and help from here and Tony at Plusnet - I managed to stumble into a web page, but I had to give my credit card payment of £15 before I could see/access anything.  I believe Tony had asked Greenby to postpone my cancellation, but they didn't do that.  Ah well, at least I've now got access.  If it's more than £15 next year I'll abandon ship.  I do have other email addresses, I just need tell anyone who have the Greenby one.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Possible solution ?..

My son had been having problems sending and receiving email on a windows laptop using Thunderbird since migration. His iPhone however was able to do both.

We fixed the laptop today by changing to..

POP3: Port 110 (was 110)

SMTP: Port 25 (was 587)

User name to his email address (from the format plusnet required).

One of those three changes got Thunderbird working for incoming and outgoing email. Note that Thunderbird had to be restarted before it worked,

The only strange thing is he now seems to require different passwords (an old one and a new one) for incoming and outgoing email servers. Can live with that for now.

"still getting emails to my Thunderbird mail client from PlusNet - but 90% of it is SPAM"

Me too. The filtering that used to take place seems to now not happen or be far less effective, meaning toxic spam is ending up in my TB inboxes. Far less than 90% but still.

I do not know if I have been migrated (no email to that effect) - is there any definitive way of finding out? Eg will it show in email source (headers)? Will Plusnet webmail stop working?

Youll get an email from us to tell you about email, and one from Greenby when it happens - the username linked to your forum post has not migrated.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

@stumped Try logging into the Greenby portal via this link: https://greenby.com/ , using your Plusnet username and account password. If it lets you in, you have been transferred, if it doesn't, you haven't.

EDIT; @plusnettony  beat me to it.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I’ve stopped receiving emails 3 days ago. It’s not an email app problem as I don’t see them on my phone, laptop or webmail even though I’ve sent a test email. I’m not sure if this is related to Greenby migration but I can’t login to Greenby with my plusnet details. How can I get support with this please?
