Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Apologies for the late response, but never received the notification email.  Also no emails to my inbox since yesterday?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Hi everyone,

I have my domain and email still with Plusnet, originally freenetname account. I’m not keen on moving to Greenby, when forced.
Can anyone recommend a good web hosting and email provider for light use that I can migrate to.
Thanks

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I've had Greenby email for several weeks now. It works. But the amount of spam that gets through is huge. The extra spam started before the migration but after Plusnet decided it wanted out of email hosting. Also useful email gets put in the junk folder.

So my workflow is now open webmail (very slow) mark junk in inbox then check junk box for emails that shouldn't be and "unjunk" them. Then open email client and download.

Initially I was able to forward as an attachment in email client any junk emails that got through (because I didn't follow my workflow) to abuse@enixltd.com but that now rejects emails so there is no training facility.

Greenby have no support as such. Any tickets raised are immediatley replied to by a bot but unfortunately not actually answered. Then it is closed.
I have said this before but the impression is that Enix / Greenby is a one man and his dog company who have taken on something they can't cope with. Plusnet were desperate to get rid of hosting email and I can only presume the dog was very lovable.

I second @MisterW's recommendation. I moved across to Mythic Beasts last week and it went very smoothly. The prices are good, especially if you pay for a year upfront.

Also thanks again to @plusnettony for his help with the move.

That probably explains why people are complaining their mailboxes look like a dog's dinner.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Please forgive my ignorance, but with all this nonsense I am now trying to understand what it would mean to move my email.

When you moved to Mythic Beasts were you able to retain your plusnet email address?

Also now my plusnet email has been migrated to Greenby, does that mean the link to plusnet has been broken and if I were to move to a different ISP I would still have my plusnet email address?

Like many here been happy with Plusnet for years and am about to move to full fibre now thinking of shopping around.

No, that's not possible, you have to get a new domain

Yes
