Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

As from yesterday it appears that all my emails have been lost from a number of folders on webmail and also do not appear on the Greenby site.

Has this happened to anyone else and how do we retrieve them?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I was not made aware that the email was moving across to this new unheard of company.  Does it have any sort of track history?  Not happy with the transition as today my inbox got filled up with over 600 emails.

The first I knew of it was when I got an email from Greenby advising me that I was now with them and that after the free period I will be charged £15 a year.  I never agreed to this and it was not part of my contract to which I am subscribed to until November.  I now want out of my contract as never agreed to this change!

@Surfer

Emails have been sent to contact addresses on accounts over the last few months advising of the migration of the email service. Details are here https://www.plus.net/help/email-account-changes/

I never agreed to this and it was not part of my contract to which I am subscribed to until November.

Plusnet broadband customers will not be charged for 2 yrs which is well past the end of your contract. In any case , the email service is not part of the contracted core services.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I have done a search in my inbox and there is nor email advising of the change.  I have no idea about Greenby and no idea if they are reputable or not.  I also notice they use cloud and up to now I have been avoiding anything linked to cloud.  Whether correct or not I as do not trust anything to do with cloud as probably easy to hack.

However the point is that I should have been notified in good time about the change instead of finding that in the space of 30 minutes over 600 back dated emails arrived in my inbox.  I am not happy with the way Plusnet treat a customer who has been with them for years.

Guess I will be joining others in leaving when my contract is up!  😠

For the email service ?? Where have you seen that information ?

At least the migration to Greenby is better than the alternative, discontinuing the email service completely!

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Their website states it is a cloud based service unless I misunderstood?  It is not the cost, but the fact that it was dumped on us unexpectedly as I did not receive any notification of the change and it seems I am not alone.  Reviews of Greenby are not good.  See https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/greenby.com   However I am looking at an email supplier that allows emails to be sent direct to my POP email client and not re-directed via Plusnet.

Enix do supply cloud based services but Greenby's email service won't be cloud based

Not quite sure what you mean here ?  A POP email client collects email from the server and both the old Plusnet & the new Greenby servers support POP clients

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Greenby keeps putting most of my emails into its Junk folder, WHY?

I found their forum & posted that question, the reply was; "Roundcube doesn't handle the spam filtering, you would need to configure that on the mail server or sub system that handle spam filtering. "

That doesn't mean anything to me unfortunately

What do I have to do?

I use Thunderbird, latest version. 147.0.11 32-bit

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I find the roundcube dreadful and use the betterbird version of thunderbird at home - but like you I have to keep checking online or my mails dont arrive as expected. you just need to keep marking them as junk or not in roundcube on the web until it learns (well I hope it will learn!).  Ironically today it has let through something from 'Plusnet verification' saying there was a sign-attempt from unrecognized device and I need to click  blah blah blah come here little phishy ......   Seemed to be from Hungary and sadly thunderbird/betterbird didnt spot it either.  Doesn't fill me with a great deal of trust or hope in plusnet or greenby if the situation has been spotted by the phishing community Sad

That's AI bots for you!

Login to your account at Greenby.com

Select 'Manage' against your email product, Select the Settings tab and try adjusting the Anti-Spam Agressiveness slider

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

PS the spam filter settings are not in the roundcube page but in the opening page where your email account(s) are listed, if you make it less aggressive it will let more through - but also more spam.  You can also whitelist if there are email addresses that keep flagging up.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I found my way to the Greenby.com & moved the slider over to 9 less aggressive, will see how that goes.

Thanks MisterW

I would never have found that,
