Morning all, I've recently changed from John Lewis broadband to Plusnet (I know they're basically the same) but I am struggling to work out how I change my email address from the old JL one to a new Plusnet one. I've always used Thunderbird and will continue with that. I really don't know where to start. Can anyone help?

@jeanners49 Sorry to say this, but Plusnet no longer give new customers (as you effectively are) an email address which you can use. They removed this back in June/July last year.

In your (forced) migration from JLP to Plusnet was the subject of your pre-existing (and I guess now lost) email service discussed? If the same current rules as applied to Plusnet account closures are being applied, then you lose your JLP email address when that door closes ... and there is no equivalent service on new Plusnet accounts.

On further reading here - Changes to John Lewis broadband from Plusnet - I find the guidance of keeping JLP emails potentially ambiguous...
"Our email service is still available, but we’ll be closing this in the future which means you will no longer be able to use your @john-lewis.com, @greenbee.net or @waitrose.com email address(es).
We recommend you start to look at other email services, like the popular free options from Gmail or Outlook.com. This way you can import everything you want to keep into a new email account.
We'll be writing to all customers to explain these changes in due course - and to offer guidance on how to set up and transfer emails to a new account."
Have you received such communication?
