Yes indeed.. But up until now it's all been rather random.
I:ve just just sent today's test messages and got a rather better result- though |I imagine it's too good to be true!
I sent two messages to different Gmali addesses -the same recipients as yesterday.
Both messages were delivered instantly.
To extend the test, I then sent two more messages to third and fourth Gmail addresses. They too arrived instantly.
This has never happened before since the Gmali problem started.
As I say, it's no doubt too good to be true, but could a gew of you fellow Plusnet users run your own tests today and post the results here?

Glad you are seeing a pattern, I'm not but I have been able to have a conversation with a gmail contact.
The conversation was started by the gmail contact, that reached me instantly. My reply back was also delivered instantly and I got an equally instant response. So far so how it should be.
My reply to the reply didn't arrive quickly though. I learnt this morning that was delivered many hours late, in the middle of the night. My response to that information did go as normal, with a rapid response back. However it looks like my latest reply is being held up.
Meanwhile, I started a new conversation using the @googlemail trick. That was delivered instantly but as yet I've not heard that my reply to the reply has been delivered.

I am not a PN 'user' as such, but still use their email service. I'll try sending to my own Gmail account from a PN address and see what happens - or doesn't, as the case may be.

Interestingly, I sent a short message to my (very rarely used) at 12.06 and it arrived instantly. However, one I sent to the only other of my contacts, sent immediately after is still floating in the ether.

I've had several more test messages delivered instantly in the past hour or so.
No failures so far today,
Either I've just hit a lucky streak or something's actually changed at last.
Anyone else having the same result?
Any clues, Townman?

Yes, I've just tried a test and delivered instantly...
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Maybe Gmail have seen the error of their ways and stopped the arbitrary practice, although my message to my other Gmail contact still hasn't arrived, so...

Weirder than weird. I:ve been really badly hit by the Gmail issue since it started, but today I must have sent at least ten test messages to four different Gmail addresses and all have arrived instantly. Maybe someone at Googlel ikes me? Or (more likely) maybe someone there is just teasing me with false hope?

To Gmail? If yes, that is probably an entirely different issue, not the one being discussed here.
Mind you, if it was bounced 'instantly' by the remote service, for a remote issue, then the good news is that the attempt to deliver was accepted instantly, not as per the issue in this thread - delivery acceptance being deferred for ages by Gmail.

I have no reason o believe that anything has changed at the Plusnet end (what is there to change?) but rather this is a manifestation of the moving sands of Gmail.
My test sent at 11:25am on Saturday was delivered at 03:21am - some 17 hours later.

I beg your pardon - the title of this thread is " Problems sending PN email to Gmail addresses" My comment was exactly about sending a PN email to Gmail addresses. So exactly why is it irrelevant Townman?

@CMOTD in which case your problem is a new one as this topic, so far, has only discussed how Google are (have been??) delaying, not refusing, delivery of messages from PN to @gmail addressess. You are the first person to report an instant bounce / delivery refusal of a message from a PN address to an @gmail one.
Can you give @Townman more details of what the bounce message said?

Please do not 'put words into my mouth'.
I did not say that your issue was irrelevant I said that it was probably different to the subject matter of this thread, with very good reason. Gmail silently declining accepting delivery attempts of emails resulting in no delivery of emails and no non-delivery reports - just silence - is not the same as what you described.
The fact that you had a bounce message is very different. As suggested by @stuck you have clues to share (which might help the community to offer specific advice) ... preferably in a separate thread please. There are a lot very good reasons for non-delivery reports, not all of them being a service failure.
