My immediate panic is over!
On a hunch I tried the main account name as username on Greenby portal, (rather than my email mailbox address I had been trying) and it finally recognised me and confirmed I'd been migrated!
Due to the email issues, none of us had received the "Welcome to Geenby" email after migration, and none of us could still access F9 webmail either. However the Welcome email was the last item in my Greenby Webmail in my inbox for 36 hours earlier!! Which is a little disturbing, as I get 10s of emails per day typically, but none post-migration. There were 15 emails in junk though strangely from the last 36 hours, but now new emails are coming back into inbox, and no new junk mails since those 36hours in no-mans-land.
Still can't get Outlook Classic to work (or Outlook for Android either). But at least I know why it has stopped working... so just need to get the Outlook settings right for Greenby. They should be the same as was working for Force9. The settings still look correct for both, but no joy so far.
I've now tried changing my mailbox password, just to be sure that isn't the problem, but no joy so far. Must be missing something obvious. Or there is a temporary glitch still. Will keep persevering.

Hi @emardee
Predume you have used the following settings found on greenby
pop.gn.apc.org for incoming mail, smtp.gn.apc.org for outgoing mail, and ensure SSL/TLS is disabled for these legacy settings. If you have not yet been migrated from Plusnet to Greenby, you will need to continue using the Plusnet settings until you receive a migration email.
Manual Outlook setup
- Go to File and then Add Account in Outlook.
- Enter your email address and click Advanced options, then select Let me set up my account manually.
- Choose either IMAP or POP3 as the account type.
- Enter the following server information:
- Incoming mail server:
pop.gn.apc.org - Outgoing mail server:
smtp.gn.apc.org
- Incoming mail server:
- Under More Settings..., go to the Outgoing Server tab and ensure "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is selected.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Incoming Server (IMAP): Port 143, SSL is OFF
- Outgoing Server (SMTP): Port 25, SSL is OFF
- Enter your password and click Connect or Finish to complete the setup.
Important notes
- Migration: If you have not yet been migrated to Greenby, you will need to use the old Plusnet settings until you receive a migration confirmation email. Your settings will remain the same as before the migration, even though the provider has changed.
- SSL/TLS: The legacy Greenby/Plusnet email platforms require SSL/TLS to be turned OFF on ports 143 (IMAP) and 25 (SMTP). Attempting to use encryption will cause connection errors and repeated password prompts.
Incoming server settings
- IMAP:
- Server:
imap.free-online.net - Port:
143 - SSL: Off
- Server:
- POP:
- Server:
pop.plus.net - Port:
995 - SSL: On
- Server:
- Server:
relay.plus.net - Port:
587(recommended) or25 - SSL: On
- Authentication: Yes (use the same credentials as your incoming server)

Thanks... I'll play with these settings as a sanity check when I get a moment, but it seems that others have had the same issue with genuine authentication issues on the account server-side.
eg
https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/Authentication-failure-with-Greenby-Force9-imap/td-p/2029980
Since none of my mailboxes can login to either F9 webmail or Greenby webmail either, the issues don't appear to be to do with the client server settings... and are probably a deeper issue, not just with Outlook et al and tweaking server settings.
I'm escalating the whole account for Plusnet to investigate... but once they are investigating, I'll circle back here, and play with your settings whilst I wait.

Presume you have used the following settings found on greenby
pop.gn.apc.org for incoming mail, smtp.gn.apc.org for outgoing mail, and ensure SSL/TLS is disabled for these legacy settings. If you have not yet been migrated from Plusnet to Greenby, you will need to continue using the Plusnet settings until you receive a migration email.
Are you sure this information is correct, there should be no need to change inbound or outbound server names when being migrating to Greenby
xxx.gn.apc.org are for greenNet email as seen here - https://www.greennet.org.uk/support/settings-glance

@Dan_the_Van I may be very dim here, but apart from anything else, I read those 'instructions' as provided by @mort7890 and wondered what alternative universe I had stumbled into - I can't believe a competent email provider would ever give any of those settings out.

@mort7890 I didn't need to change any settings in the end... just reset all my passwords!
It did appear to be some sort of authentication issue affected all my mailboxes... fortunately pretty rare it seems!!
The solution was to manually change the password on each mailbox inside the Greenby Member Centre. I was then able to login to the Greenby Webmail successfully ( https://webmail.greeby.com )
Even better, to then get Outlook for Android working again... I was able to keep all my Force9 settings that had been failing in Outlook for last 10 days, and just put in the new password to the "please sign in" message... and my emails just flowed right in.
For me on Force9, these settings ultimately worked:
SSL/TLS
port 995 with Encryption turned on.
SSL/TLS

Reading further into it I believe it is a migration email query/problem and my interpretation is if you have not received the migration email then you contiue to use the PN details otherwise if you have got the migration email then you use greenby details, but that is/was only my interpretation

You continue to use the Plusnet settings ... full stop.
There is / has been some gremlins with secondary mailboxes, but one ought NOT to be changing anything.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

@mort7890 The servers I listed above, are the same ones I used on Force9 and now working on Greenby. These servers are the settings given out inside the Greenby portal as being the correct ones to use after migration (eg the same as before migration!). I would suggest editing your post to remove the listed alterative servers, as they don't appear to match anything that is being given out, and could well be a source of great confusion, as they look to be completely incorrect (unless I am mistaken).
Ah, as Dan pointed out they appear to be from GreenNet NOT Greenby. Not sure where you got that from, but looks to be completely wrong!!

@mort7890 Your post msg#48 is totally incorrect, it relates to a different email provider Greennet how you have confused them with Greenby I don't know but I have reported your useless and confusing post to the moderators. It would be helpful if you could acknowledge your error and say that the post should be ignored.
There is enough misinformation and confusion going on with the email migration already and we don't need any obviously incorrect stuff added into the mix.

I did say in my post #50 there was an error, I was expecting an acknowledgement he posted erroneous information. I was going to ask a mod to withdraw the post but you done that.
