Problem Setting up Outlook 2010

Just signed up today, so I'm not on the Plusnet network yet.
Been going around in circles trying to setup Outlook within Office 2010.
After the second image it just goes around in an endless loop, until I cancell it, then I'm told my username/password is being rejected by the server, needless to say these are not wrong.
I'm attaching screen shots to see if anyone can spot what's wrong or make any suggestions.

Possibly because you are still on the Talk Talk network.

Re: Problem Setting up Outlook 2010

Not received an activation date yet.
I thought the authentication settings I've input allowed to login from anywhere.

They will, when you are connected to PlusNet - i.e. your service is activated.

Re: Problem Setting up Outlook 2010

So that means the only way I can keep track and check of my activation progress is via Webmail, is that correct?

Re: Problem Setting up Outlook 2010

What email address did you give to PN when you signed up? I gave them my then-current email, and received update &c notifications via that.

Re: Problem Setting up Outlook 2010

Before broadband service activation you can receive messages sent to your Plusnet address but can't send via the Plusnet SMTP relays (because authorisation is allowed only on an activated account).
To set this up in Outlook you need to turn off "use same settings as my incoming mail server". For sending emails supply the hostname and whatever is appropriate for your current service provider's SMTP server.

Thanks  spraxyt - it's that long ago since I moved, I don't remember the instruction you have just given, but I thought there was a way. Smiley

Thanks for that, |I should have realised that  Embarrassed
I'll change the server settings when I get home.
For some strange reason the webmail site takes an eternity to load anything other than the initial screen, also all messages are duplicated.
Thanks fo the help folks.

If webmail speed is a problem, try the 'old' version: https://webmail.plus.net/squirrelmail/src/login.php
