Plusnet Security Issue Email rceived

I received an email from supposedly from Plusnet saying there is a security issue and my account has been suspended. They are asking me to click a link to remove restrictions.

I think it could be a scam. I can still send and receive emails although a few recently deleted items have disappeared from my deleted items box.

My migration to Greenby is due 19th November.

Any advice would be appreciated

Fix

Hey @DiamondLIL,

That definitely sounds like a scam. Please don't click any of the links. Your migration should go through fine. If possible, can you forward the email to abuse@plus.net

@Marsh Looks like a genuine PN email account has been hacked and is being used to flood with these - see https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Account-Billing/Oh-No-My-Plusnet-Account-got-suspended-NOT/m-p/2028...

Re: Plusnet Security Issue Email rceived

I got one of those too this lunchtime. Seemed a bit odd that I'd received it on the address that was supposed to have been suspended (most emails from Plusnet come to my non-Plusnet address). I logged into webmail successfully, though it was going a bit slow and there was a message at the top of the page saying it might be, due to the migration! Tested it was all working fine in my Mail progamme too. BTW, I haven't had notification of my mail being migrated yet.
I then forwarded it as an attachmentto a couple of different addresses for reporting phishing and spam etc to Plusnet for investigation.

It got nowhere near my inbox - deleted off the server, courtesy  of MailWasher.

Webmail empties the deleted items folder on exit.
