Plusnet Community After Migration

Hello everyone,

I have been helped quite a lot by community members and value their contributions but now that my email has been migrated to Greenby I wonder if I can still get help on email topics in this Plusnet Community. If that is not the case does anyone know if there is a simmilar forum on Greenby?

It's been an uphill battle today after not having any force9 emails for a week but had some great help from Mariana on the helpline from Doncaster to establish my Greenby webmail login - It proved an uphill battle for her - over an hour or trial and error

I'm now trying to set up my various clients for email duties in the manner that I've been accustomed to over the last 27 years with Force9/Plusnet. It isn't quite as straightforward as the blurb made out as various settings in the IMAP arena need to be changed over 3 systems Mac Mail, Android, and Windows Outlook.

Anyway, on the up side, the AI bot on Greenby does seem incredibly clear in its answers - until it went on it's dinner break.....

Cheers

Re: Plusnet Community After Migration

There is no forum Greenby side akin to this one.

Support / guidance is being offered here for those migrating ... well at least to get them over the hurdles!

I am perplexed at the suggestion that server settings are thought to need to be changed.  There is a great deal of bad information in the Greenby support bot - the AI is decidedly lacking intelligence.  There is ZERO need to change SERVER settings on migration.  The move away from encrypted connections / ports to non-encrypted connections is EXTREMLY bad advice.

There has however been some authentication issues connecting to secondary mailboxes on some Force9 accounts - all of those issues are believed to have been resolved and user authentication can be any of...

  • address@account.forec9.co.uk
  • address@account.f9.co.uk
  • account (default mailbox)
  • account+mailbox (secondary mailbox)

If these do not work for you, then report here the client and email brand.

Server settings are as per the email server connection diagnostic tool - link below.
