Multiple messages on an Ipad

When using the full graphical email on an Ipad how can I select multiple messages when there is no Control or Command key?

What are you hoping to do once selected?
With the Inbox list displayed, if you tap Edit at the top you'll have a choice of Mark All, Move All or Delete All at the bottom of the list.
If you tap one or more messages their selected markers turn blue and All is removed from the options at the bottom.
Tapping Mark gives you options Flag, Mark as Unread and Move to Junk for the selected messages.
