Missing Aliases after migration

My Force9 account was migrated this morning, but I seem to have no aliases attached to any of my mailboxes. I should have dozens - and all my emails are sent to alias addresses. Currently they are all being sent to my catch-all mailbox.

I have checked that I can add a new alias, and that is shown.

I have raised a ticket.

Re: Missing Aliases after migration

At 11:48 today, I received my welcome letter saying: "The migration of your email has been successfully completed"

At 15:32 there was a response to my ticket about missing aliases: "Migration for your account is still going on. Could you please check your emails after a couple of hours?"

At 16:47 I still have no aliases, and emails are being received all to the wrong box - 60 out of 70 are spam!

I will check again later, but it seems the Welcome message is very misleading.

Re: Missing Aliases after migration

Aliases are implemented as redirects in Greenby.  Is there anything there?

There is a difference between they not being there and they not working properly.  Certainly with FoL there were issues with them not working properly.

Indeed it would be fair to say that the majority of issues encountered have not been related to the migration, but rather the base functionality of the new platform.

Re: Missing Aliases after migration

 @Townman On the latest version of the Greenby portal they are actually shown as Aliases against each of the mailboxe

Or is that just for the plus.com domain ?

@mavison

Are you free-online which is my email is.

If you logon into greenby . com and select 'Manage' Email - Connected 2GB - account.free-online.co.uk

This will present a list of all your email addresses for your account - you setup an alias by clicking the three dots at the end of the email address

Re: Missing Aliases after migration

My Redirects seem to be migrated ok as Forwarders.

There does seem to be provision for aliases - but none of mine were migrated.

This means that ALL my emails are being dumped in my catch-all mailbox (thank goodness I have it set!), as the majority of my incoming mail is to aliases. None of my mailboxes names are used as addresses - they are simply box names like Main, Misc, Demo, Test & Spam.

Currently the only place I can see emails since about 1pm today is in webmail for my catch-all box - over a hundered emails, but 90 are spam. Makes it difficult to see the real ones.

Thunderbird sees emails up tp and just after the alleged time on completed migration, but nothing since 1pm.

Not really usable at all.

@Dan_the_Van No, it is a Force9 account.

Re: Missing Aliases after migration

@mavison

regardless of the email brand I would expect My Greenby to be the same for all.

If you have not found it the "Catch all" enable is found in Settings.

Before Greenby Forwarders would not have an Inbox hosted by plusnet, this still being the case for me now since migrating.

So a forward for me is as before email@accountname.free-online.co.uk ---> email@gmail.com

Under Forwarders are you seeing anything listed?

Have you attempted to create a new Alias?

There are issues with the inbound and outbound username format, for me I've had to change them all to be the full email address email@accountname.free-online.co.uk, clearly yours would be the force9 format.

Re: Missing Aliases after migration

@Dan_the_Van Thanks for the suggestions. However,...

  • I am aware of the catch-all setting, and it is set for the mailbox it has always been.
  • What Plusnet called Re-directs are all now shown in Greenby as Forwarders.They are all to external addresses.
  • I have created a new alias, and that appears on the Mailbox list as expected.
  • The normal account or account+mailbox signin seems to work for me, and is gives the same results as 'View Webmail' from Greenby.com

However, this morning I had a response to my ticket, saying "The migration of your account is facing some issues which left it running for hours." - even though the Welcome letter said it was complete! It has been ecalated, so I await developments.

Witrh all mail being dumped in one mailbox (200+ in the last 20 hours, including 90% spam), and only visible in webmail, it is not easy to use at all!
