Fix

Thanks for getting back to me @mister8ball

No problem, I'm happy to confirm your mail should be restored now.

Could you check everything's there? Smiley

Re: Lost years of emails :-(

Win10 mail is indeed dreadful!

Rather than PN mail -> Gmail -> Thunder Bird

Why not connect Thunder Bird direct to both PN mail & Gmail using IMAP?

Note that Gmail POP 3 on to PN mail is not going to 'acquire' your sent items, where as TB -> PN mail using IMAP will.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Lost years of emails :-(

Thanks for the confirmation @mister8ball

Glad to see you've got your mail back and sorry for the length of time you've been without. Thanks for your loyalty btw these past 15 years and I'm happy to see you're still with us for broadband.

Let us know if there's anything else you'd need help with and stay safe.

Re: Lost years of emails :-(

@Townman - I'm just using gmail as a back up for my plusnet emails.

If I link thunderbird to gmail & plusnet separately how would my plusnet emails be saved on gmail? Also, I don't really know how IMAP works but my experience of it so far is that if emails are deleted on one server then they disappear from everywhere. Of course I'm no expert so I could be wrong.

In my head if I do it this way my plusnet emails are saved in 2 places, so if either plusnet or gmail 'loses' my emails then it's no biggy. My gmail emails are not backed up anywhere but I don't use the gmail address for anything important. Seems to be working ok.............
