Re: Is Greenby down?

Yup, same here - you have no mailboxes, if I was new to this or relied on it I would be panicking, but seen it all before and thankfully now almost severed all ties with the whole bally lot!  shockingly bad service even when 'working' and yet still no real response from either greenby or Plusnet (who should be at least partly responsible, having chosen this shower!).

Re: Is Greenby down?

Likewise, @solent2 . I paid for one year when they switched, but have now got my own email domain (via Mythic Beasts), and to the best of my knowledge, changed all but two or three contacts to the new account. I WILL NOT be renewing come December 6th.

Not even an admission from Plusnet or Greenby that they are "aware" of the problem.

Re: Is Greenby down?

@jab1 I reckon Mythic have quite a few new members! fortunately I was already there, just had to add a new email and shift as many over asap, also left plusnet a couple of weeks ago, no reward for bad behaviour - oh and not doing any voip options, always was cheap and cheerful, now not really either Wink

Re: Is Greenby down?

I had to start with MB from scratch. Had bit of help from another forum member initially, but once the account was set up it was dead easy.

Had been considering the move ever since the initial 'good news' from PN, but life has been a bind and I just kept putting it off - wish I hadn't, otherwise I would have  not even bothered paying them for the year.

Once City Fibre get out to me - and they are creeping my way, I shall ditch anything to do with BT Group plc and throw a party. Left PN five years ago, when I correctly guessed what BT had in store for them.

Re: Is Greenby down?

Yes, inaccessible, using Thunderbird. Thanks for posting because we know it's not us, it's them.

Logged into Greenby direct >> Manage Email >> "You don’t have any mailboxes set up.". Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Last time this happened, the mailbox reappeared as if by magic. I've been putting off, as one does, migrating to my gmail address, set up fairly recently as backup/recovery address. But if it's not back tomorrow morning, much as a pain in the whats-its as it is, I WILL start moving things over - you know the trivial things like hospitals (plural) and surgery (singular thank goodness) and banks and credit cards - of course they'll demand they send verification emails to the plusnet address which equally of course might not be accessible. A pox on GreenBy and shame of PlusNet for thinking choosing such grifters.

Re: Is Greenby down?

Down for me too.

Oddly, I contacted them early this morning about missing emails from the last two days and i was contacted (via email, ironically) to say that there was [now] no issue.

Reluctantly, I think I will probably be using gmail a lot more often and transferring my old plusnet contacts over.,...

I am also being messed about by Openreach at the moment with mixed up engineering appointments.

BT... Sad

Re: Is Greenby down?

Mythic Beasts seems to be drawing most Plusnet email customers fed up with the beastly myth that the Greenby migration would be seamless.

Re: Is Greenby down?

I've had no notification as yet re migration to Greenby, but as others have noted, the original webmail.plus.net is also offline, with a total 500 Internal Server error.

I've been a constant customer of PlusNet for over 20 years, but they seem to have lost the plot on how to manage their business and keep customers happy, with decent value product.  I don't mind basic if it works all the time.  Their webmail (RoundCube on Linux, I believe) is rubbish as far as the modern email experience is concerned, and IMMENSELY slow to use, but it was moderately robust.... until now.  And this nonsense about moving to Greenby, which is also down currently, then will be charging for the privilege of using it after a couple of years... Seriously?

Add the fact that almost everything ends up in my Junk folder, I have to rely on the webmail to ensure I still get critical emails (doesn't matter how many times I tell the system these are NOT junk).

Time to redesign my email domains landing point I think..

Have you adjusted the Spam filter settings in your Greenby account? I had Spam filtering OFF in my Plusnet account but later found it was ON by default in my Greenby account - set to 'More aggressive'. So I adjusted it.

I don't seem to have all these issues with Spam, at least not with incoming mail!

Re: Is Greenby down?

Hi all,

Only registered for the forums tonight after my (Greeby-hosted) mailboxes abruptly disappeared this evening, just like the rest of you.  I tried reporting the issue via Greenby's website and got the following AI reply response which I'm posting here in case it helps anyone :-

"I completely understand how alarming it is to see your mailboxes missing and appearing empty, especially when you need to access your emails urgently.

I can confirm that the issue you are seeing is directly tied to a Critical Email Outage that began earlier this evening (around 21:15 UTC). Because our systems are currently down, the Greenby portal and your Outlook client are unable to fetch your mailbox data, which is why everything is temporarily showing up as empty or non-existent.

Please be assured that your emails have not been deleted. Our engineering team is already assigned to this outage and is working urgently to get the email servers back online.

I strongly recommend against making any changes to your Outlook settings or removing the accounts, as the service should automatically reconnect and sync your emails once the outage is resolved.

I sincerely apologize for the severe disruption this is causing. We are doing everything we can to get this fixed as quickly as possible."

Terrible!  @jab1 - I see you migrated to Mythic Beasts, do you have a old post anywhere you can link to on what the steps are to do this in practice?  I have my own domain which I've previously just auto-forwarded emails to my (two) PlusNet mailboxes, which historically has 'just worked' but given the Greenby debacle I think it's time for Plan B.  Thanks in advance.
