IMAP Server Down?

I'm constantly getting an error in Outlook: The server has refused the connection.

Clicking on Details, it shows: Cannot connect to IMAP server 212.159.8.86 (212.159.8.86:143), connect error 10060.

Please advise, thank you.

When you say “Outlook” which version? There are a multitude of email clients using that generic name.

Has this by any chance started after a software update? Check that ssl / TLC is NOT selected on the accounts server settings.

Plusnet servers are working ok.

In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

Hi Townman,

 

I'm using Outlook 2003 on Windows 7 Ultimate.

As I mentioned in my original message, I was constantly receiving an error 10060.

This has now stopped, and all seems to be well again.

Are you using IPs rather than DNS names in your server addresses?  Might be better for you to set these back to DNS names.

No, I'm not using IPs. I'm using DNS names.

 

As I mentioned in a previous reply, everything is working fine now.
