Greenby simply too erratic to be a competent service

This morning, again, Greenby is responding erratically to my Thunderbird. Mostly "sending login information" just hangs then times out. Yet once in a while it works. Logging in to Greenby Dashboard, and thence to Webmail (to check what's there) has failed AGAIN with "RC error: Login failed, please check your credentials". And I cannot log in to webmail direct - trying just now resulted in "login to imap server failed", and a retry resulted in "504 Gateway Timeout". Greenby, you offer no explanation; you offer no solution; as far as I can see there is no apology or communication regarding these failures in service; your competency to do the job is clearly lacking.

My confidence is shot. Apart from getting fed up with those smuggies who say everything works perfectly for them - so that's all right then - I have lost patience with Greenby and this crawling shambles of a service. It's unacceptable and intolerable. You, as Greenby, are clearly not competent to provide a reliable email service. You are a lost cause.

With regret and at considerable inconvenience, I feel forced to start moving away from my email address of some 20 years. As a vulnerable oldie, this is the last thing I need or want. Shame on you Greenby for your incompetence and shame on you PlusNet for embarking on this failed migration.

Seems to have worked - by and large - for us "smuggies". 😀

OK. It's having another Bad Hair Day today. Let's all hope it's sorted out soon and back to normal. Oops!

Ticket answer: "Thank you for your patience in the meantime while we worked on the issue. This has now been fixed. Please try again and let me know if you are still experiencing any problems or need further assistance."

Not happy that Plusnet migrated our emails to Greenby - absolute mess. Took ages for them to set it up over 10 days, and the first bunch of emails that came in were Spam. I then told Greenby to shut my account down, what a waste of time, how can my plusnet.com email that I had for years all of a sudden get spammed every hour for 6 hours so quickly with a new provider!!!

This will also reflect on my decision with Plusnet Broadband when my contract run out!

I think we’ve all tried to be generous, understanding and typically British about this. The reality is that the Plusnet/Greenby email product is appalling.

I also have a gmail address:

  1. It is never down
  2. Everything is perfectly synchronised across all my phones and computers
  3. I’ve never had a single sent email rejected
  4. I’ve never received any spam.

Plusnet/Greenby - you are a million miles away and you’re travelling in an old banger!
