Globalnet email

Hi all.

Today my forced move to BT happened, even though I was quite happy with Globalnet/plusnet.  Thankfully, I’m still receiving email on my Globalnet email address through webmail and outlook.  However, I’m unable to send or reply to any.  It says to all email addresses that it’s not a valid email address and rejected by the server.

Do I need different settings? Please advise.  I’m not techy so please keep it simple!  Thanks.

Re: Globalnet email

Typically the answer would have been use a Greenby SMTP server like mail.enmail.co ( for send / reply )
or try via Greenby webmail : https://webmail.greenby.com/

But here I don't know if this applies given the Globalnet email server : mail.globalnet.co.uk
is hosted by Plusnet, suggesting Globalnet emails are not migrated to Greenby.

It might be worth archiving or printing important emails now whilst you can see them.

Re: Globalnet email

Greenby hasn't moved yet, so all will continue as normal except for sending (see the previous reply).

Re: Globalnet email

But I still can’t send any mail so it’s not the same.

Re: Globalnet email

If you can collect email via : mail.globalnet.co.uk

Is it possible to send emails via : mail.globalnet.co.uk   Port 587 with Encryption NONE aka SSL OFF ?

Port 143
Outgoing Server (SMTP)
Port 25 or 587
Username Format Secondary Format Email Address Format Mail Capacity
Globalnet mail.globalnet.co.uk smtpmail.
globalnet.co.uk
[full email address] [username]@
globalnet.co.uk
250MB

Re: Globalnet email

Still says cannot send mail …..@Globalnet is not a valid email address and has been rejected by the server.

Incoming mail seems to have stopped as of this morning too.
Tearing my hair out now.  Who can I talk this through with?

Re: Globalnet email

I’m thinking the information I was told about keeping my Globalnet account after the forced move to BT was incorrect as I’m not receiving incoming mail and unable to send mail.  I’m unable to access Plusnet Globalnet Webmail or Greenby Roundcube mail.  Plusnet say I’ve migrated.  Greenby say I’ve not migrated.  What a mess!

Im now frantically trying to contact financial institutions, medical, insurance companies, you name it to set up a new email account.

I spoke to a helpful lady at Plusnet and although my Globalnet account had closed she tried her best but in the end said she’d log it with a techy person and I should hear in a week.

So a word of warning, you may not keep your Globalnet email account after all if you move on.  Also BT dont offer email either….double whammy!  Exasperated.

Re: Globalnet email

I'll take a look when I'm in the office, but I can categorically confirm that your globalnet email address has not migrated, indeed should still be open.

Re: Globalnet email

MAAF accounts only have 250Mb of mail space - until you migrate to Greenby. You've exceeded this. If you delete a couple of bigger emails, all will start being delivered again.

Re: Globalnet email

Also confusing……it’s no wonder I don’t know what I’m doing when you don’t!

25/2/26

Hey leopard99,

We’re excited to welcome you to Greenby, the new home for your email service! The migration of your email has been successfully completed, and all of your existing messages, contacts, and settings are safely in place. With Greenby, you can continue to use your exisitng email address with the same login details.

26/5/26

Please note that your Madasafish and Globalnet accounts have not been migrated to Greenby, so those email services are still managed by your previous provider. You will need to continue accessing those emails through your previous provider’s platform, and any access issues would need to be raised with them directly.

ALL IWANT TO DO IS CHECK MY EMAILS AND WRITE A FEW. HELP!

Re: Globalnet email

Can someone from Plusnet please help me to access Plusnet/globalnet webmail?  I’ll leave POP/IMAP for now just to access webmail.  I’ll then be able to delete the excess mail.

I don’t know where to turn and feel I’m going around in circles and it’s making me feel ill.

Any help to get onto webmail as all I get is log in failed.

Re: Globalnet email

We need clarity on which address you are trying to access.

If It's Globalnet.co.uk, we can help here.

If it's Plus.com, you need to contact Greenby

Your initial post said you can log in, but can't send or receive (to Globalnet). Is that still the case? For receiving, if you can log in, delete some mail. We'll advise on sending, if that's still an issue. If you can't log into the global email address, we need more information, and the email format you are using, and which webmail site you've tried.
