Globalnet email account not working

I have (or used to have?) broadband and phone provided by plusnet. My email account is also with pusnet - as a legacy globalnet account.

The broadband and phone accounts are being transferred to EE, and I have recently received a number of emails from EE relating to this, but I do not know if the transfer has been completed.

I have been assured on this forum that my globalnet email is a separate account and will not be terminated when my broadband and phone are moved to EE, but this morning I am unable to access my email: POP3 eventually gives error message "Sending of password for user ******@globalnet.co.uk did not succeed.". Webmail just times out with no message.

Is there a general problem with email currently, or could this be related to the move to EE - my worst fear is that my Plusnet accounts may have been closed so although I retain my globalnet email I cannot access it via plusnet servers

and Thunderbird now fetching new messages - panic over, but still puzzled by what happened and still wary about the future

I’m not getting email on Globalnet either.  I send a test to myself and it doesn’t come through.  Then another day a bulk lot of mail comes through, some days old.  What’s going on?

Are you able to receive emails? Do you get any errors when sending emails or does this show as sent?

Hi Leanne.

I can go all day without any mail then they’ll all come into my inbox at once including my test mails some from the previous day.  The test mails show as sent.  Regards.

I must say that I’ve sent myself a couple of test mails today and they’ve come through.  I’m hoping the blockage has cleared!
