Globalnet email account not working

I have (or used to have?) broadband and phone provided by plusnet. My email account is also with pusnet - as a legacy globalnet account.

 

The broadband and phone accounts are being transferred to EE, and I have recently received a number of emails from EE relating to this, but I do not know if the transfer has been completed.

 

I have been assured on this forum that my globalnet email is a separate account and will not be terminated when my broadband and phone are moved to EE, but this morning I am unable to access my email: POP3 eventually gives error message "Sending of password for user ******@globalnet.co.uk did not succeed.". Webmail just times out with no message.

 

Is there a general problem with email currently, or could this be related to the move to EE - my worst fear is that my Plusnet accounts may have been closed so although I retain my globalnet email I cannot access it via plusnet servers

and Thunderbird now fetching new messages - panic over, but still puzzled by what happened and still wary about the future
