Force9 migration to Greenby

As Dave Tomlinson said a few days ago, it seems that the migration of Force9 users is beginning. I received the email from Plusnet today at 2pm, warning me that my migration would begin on 8th December, which is fine. However, the email also said "This service will be free of charge for the first 30 days, if you wish to continue thereafter there will be a charge of £15.00 a year inc VAT."

I have been a very longstanding continuous user of Plusnet, from the days of Force9 dialup, to ADSL, and now on VDSL.

I had been led to beleive that Greenby would be free for 2 YEARS  - why does it now say only 30 days?

This not a very good first impression of the migration!

Re: Force9 migration to Greenby

@mavison It appears some of these notifications are incorrect/incorrectly worded. If you are a Plusnet broadband customer at the time of migration, the service is 'free' for two years.

@dave  Is this an unintentional error?

Re: Force9 migration to Greenby

The email is also misleading...

- it says that my email at main1@xxxx.f9.co.uk is moving ... but that is only one of my mailboxes. What can I conclude about the others?

- it makes no reference at all to moving my webspace. Will it also be migrated at the same time?

Note I have no domains, proxies, or forwarding at all. Just plain, simple Plusnet customer.

@mavison Your email account is moving - which includes all mailboxes.

My understanding is webspace/domains etc will move later.

Re: Force9 migration to Greenby

@jab1 But it only refers to ONE mailbox! For something that has been planned for so long, it astonishes me that such an importand email is so wrong and ambiguous.

It is very likely to confuse many users. But I hope you are right!

Re: Force9 migration to Greenby

@mavison do you have more than 1 account? We tried to link accounts together where customers had more than 1 but it required that at least one of phone number, mobile, email address and/or housenumber/postcode were identical across both accounts. Can you PM me the usernames of your accounts and I can get this updated easily enough.

@mavison Click Daves name at the side of his avatar - a new window with the option to 'send a private message' will appear on the right.

If by avatar you are referring to the small circular 'picture' to the left of Staff Dave ... I have tried that with no effect.

Using FF 144.0.2 on Win11 here.

Re: Force9 migration to Greenby

Thanks I've replied back.

Just to note for Plusnet, Force9 and Free-online migrations if you have a website hosted on our Homepages webspace i.e. with the web address www.username.plus.com or homepages.plus.net/username these will be migrated at the same time as email.

If you have a domain name or you have one of our CGI/Hostopia websites e.g. ccgi.username.plus.com then we aren't quite ready to move you yet as they're a little more complicated.

I'm a Plusnet broadband account holder.  I have webspace at www.[myAccountName].plus.com AND I have a CGI website at ccgi.[myAccountName].plus.com.  I do not have a domain name.

Your message can be read as meaning that when the time comes to migrate users like me will find that our email and homepages migrate at the same time but our CGI site will get left behind.

However, I suspect your message should actually be read as meaning that having a CGI site means migration will be later but when it happens then email, homepages and CGI site will all migrate at the same time.  Correct?

Re: Force9 migration to Greenby

How do you reach that conclusion?

It seems to be clear from @dave that for those with ccgi the programme is not yet defined.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
