Email bouncing

For past two weeks if I send email or reply to email from a friend with an address similar to [email protected] I get the following message back. Have checked the address is correct and other people can send to him.

This is the mail system at host mail.enmail.co.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.

The mail system

Re: Email bouncing

Seeing this email is being sent via the Greenby email system ( mail.enmail.co )
this would also be a topic to raise as a Greenby support ticket.

In that ticket be sure to post in everything un-redacted so support can see exactly what is failing.

Re: Email bouncing

This post from a few days back encountered the same error but for an ic24.net destination.

@CWatters

Have you posted redacted returned email to postmaster@destination with query?

Possible DNS issues, unable to correctly translate from email address to IP address for some reason?

Can you ping or tracert to the destination mail server?

Re: Email bouncing

Thanks for that. I didn't recognise mail.enmail.co as the Greenby system !

Re: Email bouncing

It is a double Greenby question, the receiving email server for [email protected] is Greenby host mx.enmail.co

mail.enmail.co and mx.enmail.co have IPs so close they could be in the same rack.

Re: Email bouncing

Greeby aren't being much help...

I gave them the unredacted address and the error message and they replied...  "The error states that the user redacted@globalnet.co.uk does not exist (however, as you say, it does). But I'm not able to locate any account on our server under redacted@globalnet.co.uk. Hence, I believe the account is not migrated yet."

As far as I know his ISP isn't migrating to Greenby.  I guess this means he will have to contact his ISP.

Anyone know if I can raise a ticket at globalnet myself?

Re: Email bouncing

Any plusnet staff able to help an 85 year old?

I've discovered the recipients ISP is Plusnet. He is 85 years old and unable to tell me if he has been migrated to Greenby. Greenby say his account is not on their server so I assume he has not been migrated yet.

When I send him email from my account at Greenby it bounces and I get the following message. I have put his actual email address in the attached image file.

Thanks

Re: Email bouncing

Hi @CWatters

Thanks for reaching out about this.

It looks like that email has migrated over to Greenby, so this would need to be raised direct with them.

We can arrange a call for them if that will be easier?

If so, let me know and I'll send you a private message for some details.
