Can't send any emails since Friday

Hi everyone,
I've used a force 9 email address since the late 90s without a problem, but since Friday I can'r send emails except via webmail. I can receive emails without any problems. Whenever I try and send an email I get the message "Cannot connect the the account xxxx, enter the password for user xxxx" on Outlook Express, and on Gmail "credentials needed, please enter credentials for xxxx". However my username and password work fine on webmail and I have altered no email settings.
Any ideas what I should do next bearing in mind I'm relatively computer illiterate?

I have exactly the same problem. Have you managed to resolve it yet? I would appreciate any advise that you can give.

Unfortunately not. Also doesn't send emails on Mac mail as well. My settings are unchanged and my log in and password works fine on force 9 webmail.

Can you each please run the email server connectivity diagnostics - see the link below.
Of particular note...
- Are you on or off the Plusnet network#
- What credentials are you using as the UserID
- Is the mailbox encountering the issue of the form a.b@ (rather than ab@)
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

yes I am off the plusnet network (i.e. isp is not plusnet).
I am using both info@ and joe.blogs@
I am receiving email, but can not send.
Sorry for being think but I could not find where the email serve diagnostics is?

Last link in my signature ... but I am confused ... you are using it on the other thread discussing POP3 connectivity issues!!
Off network, I expect info@ to work, but suspect @joe.blogs will not - I did a sanity check this morning, but have not yet raised to the business as I need 3 examples to dive attention.

No info@ does not send any emais and joe.blogs@ does not send any. Both receive.

This thread here - https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/eMail-mailbox-cannot-send-force9/m-p/2013666#M50861 - also to do with SENDING but reporting connectivity issues on the inbound POP3, having used the diagnostics.
It does not help posting on the same issue on multiple threads ... or is someone else using your forum ID as well as you?
I will ask the mods to check and merge your posts into a single topic.

Sorry, I am not able to run the email server connectivity diagnostics, as the Microsoft OS Windows I am using is old (WIndows 7 Pro) and does not have a terminal window facility.

That looks like a fundamental issue running cURL. Looks like a non-standard environment ... might need some help from @Dan_the_Van

email addresses can have have any of a-z. 0-9 ".", "-", "_" in them, such as...
- joebloggs@
- joe-bloggs@

- joe.blogs@
There is a specific issue under investigation for the last email address variant when connecting to the SMTP server from an off Plusnet network connection for a Force9 user.
Email address authentication will work for the DEFAULT email mailbox, but currently not for a secondary mailbox, that must use account+mailbox
