Thanks,
for the cURL test you drop the .exe from the text string and just use curl -v
Is this what you are doing?
You have confirmed the setting to be the following in the email clients?
- IMAP: imap.force9.net port: 993 TLS/SSL
- POP3: mail.force9.net port: 995 TLS/SSL
- SMTP: relay.force9.net port: 587 STARTTL

Yes It has a dos/cmd window but curl is not installed so it does not run the commands

Which is what selecting OTHER for the PLATOFRM does for user.
The key question not answered relates to the mailbox name, specifically is it a.b and is the connection coming off network?
If both are true than as of the status yesterday, one is not going to get a SMTP connection using the secondary mailbox credentials. One is going to need the default mailbox credential for the SMTP server. Not an ideal work around whilst the issue is resolved.

If windows 7 pro then I do not believe curl would be part of the software build.
Seems to be added with Window 10
EDIT: curl can be downloaded from here https://curl.se/windows/

Thank you.
The IP addresses you have masked are public and masking them hides key diagnostic information. The output suggests issue handling the SSL encryption, not something I have seen before. I'll run the tests from here.
Can you please re-run the tests yourself...
- Remove the "s" from imaps://...
- Remove the --ssl-reqd on the SMTP command
That will attempt an unencrypted connection - if that succeeds then it narrows the scope of the issue.

More research - ssl - curl: Unknown error (0x80092012) - The revocation function was unable to check revocation for ...
Are you using AVG? The above suggests that AVG might be the villain here!!
That said you have found another rabbit hole for me!

Those results suggest that the user name / password are not being accepted. Force9 has had a long history of various non-standard userID formats accepted, including the very odd variants.
For the avoidance of ambiguity between default mailboxes and secondary mailboxes use either of respectively...

- account+mailbox

Is this worth splitting into two threads, my original question and MylesT's related one?
