Can't receive emails on Android phone

Hi, as from this morning I can't receive emails on my android phone, I can send them ok. I can also send and receive them on my PC. I tried unloading and reloading the app and turned the phone off and back on again to no avail, any suggestions?

Exactly what error codes do you encounter?

Which email brand are you using?

What server settings are you using?

Did you have issues with this the week before last ... and did you manually change root certificates to rectify matters?

Please be aware I'm not a 'techy' sort of person just a 75 year old pensioner, eg 'root certificates ' mean nothing to me. 

No error codes that I am aware of, just the red triangle with exclamation mark, but I did find In settings/operations/logs ConnectionException: Can't open TLS/SSL session, if that helps.

Email brand /? Plusnet

No problems for years until this morning.

@EasyPC  on any Internet community help forum, not just this Plusnet one, it is generally considered courteous to explain how a problem has been solved.  @IMM has explained why, doing so adds to the knowledge base of the community and thus help others.

I did what I should have done before posting here, just uninstalled my email app (eM_client) and re-installed it. Don't know what the problem was, as I said earlier had no problems for years.
