Re: Address book empty

Hi Dave

First column is headed Groups, underneath is Personal Addresses, under that is Morris. That is normal.

Second column has no heading and says no contacts found at the very bottom.

When I press Morris on the Groups column the contacts show in the second column as normal.

As I said in last reply now ok on windows pc but still missing on android tablet using chrome.

Cheers

Re: Address book empty

To clarify my last message. When I press Morris in Groups the heading Morris appears at the head of the second column and.the four contacts in that group appear in the second column

Re: Address book empty

Interesting, on mine it works OK for Chrome/Edge on Windows and Safari on a Mac, doesn't work on Chrome for Mac.

Re: Address book empty

@jiml1 @newemail could you both try it in Incognito/InPrivate browsing and check for any browser updates please and see if that works? I've upgraded to Chrome v138 and can't replicate it now, all seems to be working for me.

Re: Address book empty

That's all beyond me I'm afraid. It worked a week ago that's all I know.

If I try to add a contact to address book it says 'successfully added' but there's nothing there.

Re: Address book empty

All updates ok.I do updates daily. Not sure how to do the incognito thing so not trying in case I muck anything up.

One very slight difference noticed. When I log onto Plusnet initially and tap address book for the first time the word Contacts flashes up very briefly at the head of the second column. Nothing happens on subsequent taps on address book.

Re: Address book empty

Hi Dave

Have you tried your fix on android.

For info my system

Chrome 138.0.7204.63

Android 17.0.138

Tablet Lenovo Tab M11

As with @jiml1 everything was working ok until about week or so ago just about when Plusnet started introducing the yellow band saying they had "temporarily" disabled the sort function. Out of interest what's that all about and when is temporary going to stop. Anyway all of the status I have quoted above was in place and stable ages before this started. I have done nothing to bring this about.

Cheers

Re: Address book empty

@dave

I think there might be more than one worm in this can.

Reading the last post about having issues adding addresses, I just went to attempt to do that ... and I found addresses in Webmail (and a group list) which I had entirely forgotten about.  I do not recall seeing those earlier today.

Adding a new address works fine (plus.com account).

Re: Address book empty

It's related to the move of email to Greenby, there's a thread here about it: https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/Plusnet-email-moving-to-Greenby/td-p/2005987

There's an FAQ here: https://www.plus.net/help/email-account-changes/

The migration of customers is going to be staggered over several months but we want people to be able to log in to webmail.plus.net regardless of whether they've migrated or not so we've had to make some back end changes to Webmail to support that, unfortunately one of the things we've found is sorting makes the inbox load really slow so we've had to disable it until we can move the majority of people that use Webmail. Once your mail is migrated it should load faster and sort will be re-enabled once we've moved most people who use Webmail, probably a few months time as we've yet to send the comms out for this group. So far we've sent comms to less than 10% of people with email.

Re: Address book empty

@dave  I do not use Plusnet email so will be opting out of the migration to Greenby. I would have expected the opt out choice to have happened much earlier in the process so only those users wanting to continue using their Plusnet email addresses would be migrated. Your post seems to suggest that all webmail users are being migrated. I don’t believe that should be happening. I just want to delete my Plusnet email account. Or am I misunderstanding what is going on?

@RealAleMadrid No, the webmail application has been modified such that it can transparently access mail accounts that have been migrated and those that haven't.

After all, webmail is just another way of accessing a Plusnet email account, instead of using an email client such as Thunderbird

Re: Address book empty

@RealAleMadrid everyone who has a Plusnet (including Force9, Free-Online, Metronet and Madasafish) will be sent an email before migration outlying what's happening and everyone will have the chance to opt out before migration.

Due to the changes we've made to Webmail to get it to work for both customers that haven't migrated and have migrated we've changed the order of the comms so that anyone that's used Webmail recently will get the above email around the same time rather than being staggered out over the rest of the year. That should allow us to reinstate the sort function in Webmail sooner.

No-one will be migrated until they've had the chance to opt out with that initial email being sent at least 60 days before what would be the planned migration date if you don't opt out.
