Re: Address book empty

I have been waiting for "temporary" yellow sort message to disappear to see if that cured the problem, but it doesn't seem very temporary!!

Interestingly when I log onto Basic Webmail the address book contact is ok, maybe that's a clue.

Thanks for the update, let us know if you get anywhere.

A comment from Plusnet on the community page would be appreciated

Re: Address book empty

A bit more info.

address book is present on iPad when using the Mac mail app but is empty when using the webmail site.

this suggests a problem with the webmail site.

Re: Address book empty

You could be right. I have just opened the user guide on the Plusnet log in page and it highlights the major Plusnet  webmail move to Greenby later this year which I was unaware of. Lots of changes are being made in the background which could well upset curry webmail workings.

I will be ringing Plusnet

@newemail I suggest you may be on a hiding to nothing if you do that - first-line support have no guidance on this as they will not be responsible for email services in the near future.

Not a sound presumption.

The address "book" on the iPad / Mac Mail comes from the contacts list on the iPad.

Webmail might have an address / contacts list if YOU explicitly put them there.  If you did not, you'll not find any contacts in Webmail.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Address book empty

Just found this thread after noticing addressbook was empty when using standard webmail service;  checked the basic Squirrelmail webmail service and see it only recalls 3 addressbook entries.

Not the oldest entries & not the most recent.

Really hoping entire addressbook can be restored.... basic premise of change management is to not makes things worse.

Re: Address book empty

Provisional review shows all the data is there so we suspect a bug in the page that displays the addresses, just trying to replicate what it might be.

Re: Address book empty

Fix has just gone out on this, could you take a look and see if your address books are showing up now please?

Re: Address book empty

Splendid work.   Addressbook entries ARE all visible once more, using standard webmail service.

Basic SquirrelMail service is every bit as painful as I recall... and that Addressbook viewer is still only showing 3 entries.   Given SquirrelMail isn't displaying any of my mailbox folders' content, not a reliable test.

Thanks to the backend team for finding the bug & resolving it.   Hope the bug introducer & the release reviewer have been beaten with rotten vegetables.

Re: Address book empty

Thanks. @newemail this is a screenshot from one of mine where I think we've replicated part of the problem. Does yours look like this.

i.e. the differences from last week are:

The second column is blank and should contain the names of the contacts

The top of the second column should have the word contacts at the top

Do you use any extra groups? i.e. In the first column under groups does/should it just saying something like "Personal addresses" or do/should you have anything else listed?
