Forum Profile Settings

Hi,
Just a quick note to say that one area of the profile settings page for this forum seems a little backwards.
Surely where the "Hide email address from public?" option is checked, your email address should be kept private, however when checked, it appears to have the opposite effect.
Or maybe it's just me?
Update: I've just found a Community Forum section that this post would've been infinitely more appropriate for. Mods: Feel free to move me.

Only you can see your email address
However I have done a bit of checking using my account and seeing what effect it has when not logged in - it appears that hidden or not hidden it is still hidden

It doesn't appear to but I will flag this up to the Staff Admins who know what is happening under the hood so to speak
In my opinion the option to allow ones email to be seen by the public should never be there
