Community Feedback Survey

Morning

Tomorrow we’ll start to survey users on our community.

You may remember we wanted to do this a few months ago but when pushed live, there were issues with the styling and it wasn't right for us to continue and as a result the survey was regressed.

We're going to be surveying you to can get a better understanding of why you’re are coming to the community, as well as understanding where our areas of improvement are. The survey will also enable us to benchmark ourselves against our competitors and other communities.

The survey isn’t extensive and includes only  5 questions, one of which is a free text field at the end, allowing you to add some tangible and helpful comments. You won’t see the survey as soon as you log on, as it’ll only pop up once you’ve been on the community for 4mins. Also, to make sure this isn’t annoying to you, it uses cookies to present the survey on a 90 day rotation. This is similar to the survey you’ll see on our website.

Thanks

Louisa

OK, it's becoming annoying now -- I have Firefox set to automatically delete cookies. Roll_eyes

Re: Community Feedback Survey

Yup!  And it says you can take the survey later, but opens a new tab and changes focus regardless. Knuppel

Re: Community Feedback Survey

I'll keep a look out on my property for anyone surveying me.

Unless it's being regressed again, oops I mean postponed.

Re: Community Feedback Survey

Survey appeared for me this afternoon and immediately went into question mode despite saying it would take place when I had finished what I was doing.

Can't wait for the next survey to review the performance of the survey.

Re: Community Feedback Survey

I found that odd too (the fact it said it wanted my attention after I was done, but kicked in immediately). Appreciate the intention, but also annoying I saw it again after changing IP. Would be good to tie to user rather than origin.

Re: Community Feedback Survey

If you ask nicely in an email I'd consider responding - but a pop-up? No way.

Re: Community Feedback Survey

So far I have had the survey on three different devices (PC, smart phone and tablet).

Re: Community Feedback Survey

Yup!  The "you've done it" marker is a device based cookie - not account or IP based.

This is lithium functionality out of the reach of Jack's fingers, so I'm not expecting any excellence here!

Re: Community Feedback Survey

Thanks for everyone's feedback on this.

As some of you have pointed out this is cookie based and there isn't anything we can do to change this as it's set within the platform.

I'll be reviewing this and it may be something we run for a month and then switch off for 2 months however, this is dependent upon the volume of completed surveys we get, as we need to ensure we have a sufficient volume to be able to report on it.

Thanks

Re: Community Feedback Survey

Very strange when I completed the survey it told me authentication had failed.

How disappointing to be a failure!

Re: Community Feedback Survey

If it were me, I'd tie the survey completion/ignoring of the survey to the user rather than by IP or a cookie as these days everyone has multiple devices and connections with the same login. Unfortunately this isn't something I am able to change... although I am going to post on the Lithium Ideas portal to make a suggestion about it for future releases to the software.
