You're not somehow picking up new IP addresses in between those challenges, are you?

It is unlikely that the WAN IP address was changing between Cloudflare challenges, as my connection is VERY stable.

There have been a couple of times where I've been following a topic and been waiting to respond to the next reply, so have walked away from the screen to do something else for 10 minutes, then come back and done a Firefox 'reload current page' to see whether there have been any post updates, and then the Cloudflare challenge screen appeared.

I have tested whether repeatedly doing Firefox 'reload current page' forces this issue, but it doesn't.

It would be useful to know whether this is still happening to @7up who originally reported this issue ?
