I'm on Win7 using Chrome. I fail to see why this should be a problem though other than some nit wit somewhere has decided they don't like it.
It's not a question of not liking Windows 7, maybe some research on Cloudflare, windows 7 and Chrome is in order rather than being discourteous.

Here’s the leg work for you …
- Outdated Root Certificates: Windows 7 lacks modern security updates (like SHA-2 support and newer TLS 1.3 protocols) needed to verify secure connections. [1]

I have been having CAPTCHA issues with both Ocado and Patient Access for weeks. I have found that instead of using my default browser, Firefox, I use Edge, I get straight in without any problems. Whether it's my Firefox settings? I have no problems logging in here with Firefox.
If I come across any CAPTCHAs now when accessing a site I swap to Edge, which is in its default settings .

Probably no help, but I use Firefox (currently 153.0) as standard on my Linux laptop, iPad and iPhone and very rarely get CAPTCHA pop-ups or issues.
Odd sites do request validation, but that is usually via a texted or emailed code.

Maybe you’ll have to wait for the weekly new set of bug fixes for FF?
Weekly bug fixes (it seems like they are forever tinkering with the code) creates an ambiguous view of the product - either they are hot on development and enhancements or it’s riddled with bugs.
i do not use FF (has the sceptre of an uncontrolled development) preferring instead Edge with which I have not encountered any issues whatsoever.

Thanks for your advice. I must admit to being very suspicious of anything Microsoft, but have been through the settings and turned off as much of the dross and tracking features that I can find. I will try using it as my default browser and see how I get on with it.

I just got today's FIrefox update and browser reboot,
the version changed from 153.0 to 153.0.1, only correcting ten bugs this time ![]()

How does one conclude the evidence? 400+ bugs needing to be fixed in a 30 day month. Bug ridden software or what?
Kudos for having systematic testing … but ought that not have been done before releasing the bug ridden software? I note that’s only security issues … no mention of the functionality bug count.

Going a tad off topic, but I have been using Firefox as my default browser for longer than I care to remember, and can count, probably on one hand, the number of issues I've had.
On the odd times I have bothered to check the reason(s) for the updates, they have been of such a obscure nature that probably 99.9% of users would even know what they were for.

So you missed this then (July 2026) -
There were also a massive 468 Microsoft Edge/Chromium flaws that were fixed by Google this month, which were excluded from this Patch Tuesday roundup. As part of last month's June Patch Tuesday, Google fixed 360 flaws that were later ported to Microsoft Edge.
