Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

Guys

Lithium have been looking at this and as thought looks like an issue with Mozilla v46. Lithium are using v45 and can't replicate the error.

Thanks

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

The latest version of Waterfox for Windows I can revert to is v44.

What happened to v45 Waterfox.org!!

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

If it's anything like Firefox I wouldn't bother reverting.
I reverted to FF45 to test this issue, gave no forum problems but each time I closed FF it would refuse to restart again until I reloaded my previously backed up config.
It became a real pain so  reinstalled FF46.0.1 which fixed the FF problem and strangely I've had no further forum problems since.

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

It's basically a 64 bit version of Firefox.

I did do a reinstall while tracking down a separate issue but still getting the authentication errors but in my case it's a fairly easy work-through.

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

Now I've checked what versions everyone is using, I've confirmed back to Lithium and await their response.

I'll post back once I have an answer. Ta

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

I did notice I previously had a x64 en-US 46.0.1 version of firefox and I reinstalled a x64 en-GB 46.0.1 version.

Just mentioned it in case that's why my forum errors have stopped.

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

Ok. Lithium have replied and confirmed this is with regard to an issue with Mozilla v46 and nothing to do with them, other than the issue is showing itself in their platform. Mozilla have an open ticket for this.

Lithium have advised users to either downgrade to v45 or change browsers until the issue is fixed.

@LouisaMartin - Can you ask Lithium whether ANY users from their OTHER forums have reported this issue, or whether it is just us ?

I wish I could share their confidence that the lithium code is spotlessly leanCrazy2

Reference please.  At least Mozilla are fairly 'open' to their code failings.

Whatever the problem with Mozilla, since upgrading to 46.0.1 I'm not seeing problems on any other sites I visit, so no plans to downgrade to FF45.  Another alternative is to not use and contribute to this new board pending resolution?

Seriously unimpressed with the lithium responsiveness so far.

Re: Authentication error on community - are you affected?

@MauriceC but didn't you say that you were seeing these issues when you were still using FF45?

I've seen all these issues and I've not used either of those FF versions (I'm on the FF ESR channel) and in any event I use Palemoon (latest version) the majority of the time where I see it there as well.

I don't think Lithium know the answer and they are playing for time, whatever other specific issues there are with FF46.

True.  Hence my slightly cynical comment on lithium's competence  confidence in placing the blame squarely with FF.

True again.Thumbs_Up  cf the long list of 'issues' the Community have reported so far with no response from lithium.

Perhaps the 'fixes' are stuck in the queue behind the release of the new billing system.  <<chuckle>>
