Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

There are lots of other examples.
Like one of my banks. It was unable to prove that I had received any notification of an interest change.
So whatever it's terms and conditions even a bank realised an apology wasn't enough as I was also compensated for my trouble.
There's the feasible way and the right way of doing things. Or should that be the cheap way?

If my phone prices change (increase) BT write me a letter (on paper).
Plusnet & BT are the same company.

I would argue that sending several hundred thousands of letters are likely to have a poorer successful delivery rate than emails would.
BT also do paper billing.  All of our communication is and always has been, electronic.
We're also, as Jeremy fully knows, entirely separately run.

Is it better to say Plusnet is owned by BT?

I think so. It's like Lamborghini is owned by the Volkswagen Audi Group Smiley

I feel it's better not to mention BT and Plusnet in the same sentence - two very different companies.

Re: Pricing/Terms changes - October 2013

Letters are more reliable than emails as more secure and not likely to go in the junk mailbox.  Also if you have paperbilling (free on BT) I feel I can keep a record of it to make sure I am charged correctly.

Paper billing isn't free for BT broadband customers - I wonder how long it will remain free for BT phone only customers?

You are one of the lucky ones North Easterner - A few years ago, BT unilaterally changed most people, who had signed up for online access, over to paperless and made it well nigh impossible to change back!!

For phone only bills, BT use email.
For price increases or changes of terms & conditions I get letters.

Don`t know if its changed but when I was with BT about 3 years ago, you got a discount if you went paperless billing.
