Peak time latency spikes

ok, thanks.  Any ideas why it only really seems to happen in the evening, though?  During day seems much better.
I've switched to another gateway and no improvement (see attached).  Any thoughts?

@ shure - Have you tried leaving your ADSL router for an hour or so with no wired connections/wifi turned off?
How was your ADSL before joining PN? Any ideas if neighbours also have problems?

happy to try it, but what would that do, exactly?
I was with Onetel until November last year.  2Mb, steady but veeeeery slow.  Service OK but a lot of buffering with video.  Skype ran OK, though, but gaming did suffer from some lag.  Upgraded to 8Mb with Tesco BB, but appalling service and extreme fluctuating line, so moved to PN last month.  Initially big problems but exceptional help from people on here enabled me to re-wire my sockets and line improved immensely.  Probs with Technicolor router which disappeared when I reverted back to my old Netgear.  Line stabilised for a while but the last few days has seen some issues, culminating in today where my latency seems to be going off the charts.
Could be a line fault, of course, but generally I have not had major issues with Skype or gaming for a while, since I re-wired my extensions, although I have noticed some degradation in the evenings.  This evening, though, it's been very poor and my TBB graph is showing a lot of blue.
Question: if it's a fault why does it only really show itself in the evenings?

I've been connected to ptw-ag02 for a few days now. This is by far the best connection I've had.

Just a quick update, been checking speeds over last couple of nights, seems whatever issue i was having with speed dropping of, has now been corrected, getting a constant 48-50mbps up, and 13-16mbps down, im on gateway ptn-ag02
Download speedachieved during the test was - 49.17 Mbps

Hi guys,
We've applied some vendor supplied patches to some of the poorly devices today.  We'll be putting this device in the configuration which has previously shown the problem.  This is the only way we can demonstrate that the patch has fixed the issue.
I'll personally be watching the network like a hawk tonight to spot if we have a problem again.  If it happens again, we'll make changes to fix the experience (and I'll be rather unhappy too!)

What's your usual download speeds?

Download speed is normally around 67 - 68 but it did used to be at 75 can't explain why it dropped to 67  but now its half the speed .

Just to add to that i performed a quiet line test to rule out any issues with the line but the line was silent.

Speed has now halved again

What do you get on a different speedtest site? That one is giving me around 30Mb and others are giving me 50Mb.

Wow, that's even lower. I'm thinking along the same lines as Kelly that this might be more a local issue, maybe exchange capacity or similar.
I'm not in the office at the moment but think we need to look into your issues as a fault.
