How is the download speed being measured? By an Ethernet or Wi-Fi link to router?

Re: speed problem

@mousemickey

With the download and upload being limited to around 90 Mbps with a wired connection could suggest the cable being used between the router and ONT is cat 5 4 wire (two pair).

If this is a Hub Two logon to the Hub and check the ->Home -->Status --->WAN Link Speed. should be 1000Mbps

Re: speed problem

Thanks for reply. The cable from the ONT is the same one I used on last ISP which I got a download speed of 924. I going to try a couple of thing plus I will look at router stats.

Re: speed problem

The Plusnet router is perfectly capable of handling 900Mb wired.

I wonder if you've got a slightly dodgy cable somewhere ? A disconnect on one core of the eight can result in the cable still working BUT at 100Mb instead of 1000Mb.

Re: speed problem

You definitely could be right but I am leaving well alone. I have put router back into the box till needed. I will change all the cables if it comes back tho.
