Re: is line capped

Hi Matt
so if i had signed on to unlimited at the begining i would have got:-

When you signed up for your broadband account, we performed a check on your telephone line to give you an estimated speed your line might achieve.
Now that your service has now been active for 14 days, we thought we'd let you know the speed as it stands today, by way of comparison.
Estimated line speed: 5Mbps
Current line speed: 78Mbps
You can keep a track of your line speed through our website:

Re: is line capped

No. The estimated speed given is quoted for a maxADSL service whereas you have fibre. And the Current line speed given is the initial default to ensure your speeds are not restricted. This should reduce to the correct IP Profile when BT advise what that is.
So basically Plusnet sent you an email but what it tells you is nothing useful. Crazy

Re: is line capped

Well it is indirectly useful in that your Current line speed setting should have updated (downdated?) to the correct value by now. That it hasn't means Plusnet's traffic prioritisation won't be properly operational on your line so if you use P2P you might find streaming buffers alongside it because the latter isn't given priority.
One of the Digital Care Team staff will hopefully set that manually for you on Monday.
