Wireless issues with Thomson v8 (after firmware upgrade) Updated.

Tried the upgrade from
Product Name:  TG585 v8
Software Release:  8.2.7.7
Failure message attached

I used to see that on my old Speedtouch but clicking the back button and retrying usually fixed it in the end (I also disabled my security package including firewall when doing it)

Until they've tried people don't realise that the wireless connection drops part way through the process and upgrade then fails.
To be honest I didn't, either, until my first attempt with a 585v7 failed.
I've never had to disable AV or firewall using XPPro laptop with ethernet connection and both 585v8 upgrades have gone smoothly.

Thanks for that - do you know WHEN you will be doing this as I'd hate to be in a Heroic instance and find my router has decided to reboot itself  ....... LOL

Hello all,
I'm experiencing this wifi upload speed issue with a client this week, the firmware update 8.2.7.8 (on a v8) hasnt helped.
Wired is results like this 6495 and 370, but the wifi is only around 80 - 100k upload- even with a machine sat right next to the router.
All of their machines are slightly older Macs..
Was there any solutions found please, or do I need to give up and try a different router. I presume its something to do with the router as they've only just changed from a BT home hub to the thompson from plusnet.

Depends on the version number, but you can use a Home Hub with PlusNet. Mine is a version 2.0b, I'm not sure if the earlier ones work.
You just have to change the BT Home Hub user name in the Settings to the PlusNet username/password, and Robert's your paternal parent's sibling.
