It is 6 days since Kelly asked & we have answered

TORPC:  So, so confirm this post: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,122856.msg1074747.html#msg1074747 shows the log of when it happened again on a router with no cli changes made to it and it was a complete ethernet and wireless drop out?

I feel as though PlusNet are not really interested in solving this long time known issue that PlusNet has clearly known in excess of 12 Months
I am honestly exhausted of troubleshooting & getting absolutely know where with PlusNet staffs feedback
Please do not make me have to retract the statement I made in a thread / poll  I started
Have Plusnet got your full support
Add to that
PlusNet do not I repeat DO NOT have to put up with several screaming females when the connectivity drops on their devices
I hope PlusNet will send out some industrial strength ear plugs & some headache tablets, due to their inconsistent support on this known issue

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

Quite the opposite, I've read this thread every day as you've worked your way through it.  There isn't much point contributing when we don't have anything further to add.
Members of my team regularly review hardware replacement tickets and test hardware to make sure this sort of thing gets seen, and we've only see this being reported on here.    It's likely the vast majority of our customers either don't trigger this issue, or it happens infrequently enough for it not to be noticed in the general faults noise.  Bear in mind this router is also in use across the world in far larger quantities than we ship out demonstrate it to be a low impacting issue.
Associating it as a later hardware issue and possibly to do with the DNS resolver is useful though.  That's something we can talk to Technicolor about.

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

Thanks for fixing the link dvorak
I  Embarrassed didn't notice it was messed up
Cheers Kelly
However it would of been nice to have had a acknowledgement of our responses to the question(s) you asked for
Even a simple thank you for responding would of sufficed to let us know you had not abandoned us

Edit:
Although it is early days
Since changing the DNS Resolver I have had NO dropouts & still on the other setting as mentioned above Wink

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

@Kelly
Just a thought
If / we find a fix / workaround
Can we have it turned into a sticky ?Huh
I will test the DNS Resolver issue on the USB TG582n flashed 10.2.2.B Firmware at a later stage / If we get that far Smiley
Then I will test the other 2 NON USB 10.2.2.B Routers accordingly

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

Thanks kelly. I would be interested in technicolors comments tbh. This does happen to other users there are some posts on the o2 forum. I do suspect however that replicating this issue will be difficult if not impossible as we have no idea of the actual trigger, if indeed there is a trigger for the issue. Most people probably think there is something wrong with the internet and go off and do something else. I have noticed that when this happened websites I used alot were affected but ones I almost never use loaded up fine, but other times all sites were inaccessible. Things are going well after disabling the dns resolver.

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

Nice to see this issue being taken into account at last. I still use the forwarder on my TG582n to force open-dns requests through,  as well as it being a secondary dns address for some of my equipment, so i leave mine enabled. life isn't quite so simple as just being able to turn it off!, but, as long as my alternative cache behaves, everything ticks along nicely thank you very much. I think another bonus to the whole resolver fiasco is if everything worked perfect first time around, I would never have discovered add-blocking network wide. I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to browse the web or play a video on youtube without adverts or crap popping up on whichever pc or device i use!

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

Just had a brief droput on all WiFi & Ethernet devices
Did not need any manual intervention to restore as the connectivity had restored itself  Smiley

Looks like we may have a possible trigger & the DNS Resolver change was for the better good Smiley
Can PlusNet please review my stats to compare with this latest dropout
3CSyslog is reporting exactly the same
Just need to find out why the XDSL keeps failing ?Huh

Could this be the start of your issue and your wireless devices are not recovering from the internet connection being lost?

I did post I thought the was the cause of your issue last week.
Hopefully you have a fix now

Re: What would cause TG582n to to lose WiFi on all devices at the same time

Investigating possible problems with WiFi is rather pointless when suffering loss of sync with the exchange. Is RouterStats being run to help to try to pin down the cause of the connection issues?
