Have you ever found yourself looking for help setting up something not covered in our main Help & Support pages?  Or maybe you've worked out how to use something and think you could help others trying to do the same? A new router or mobile device maybe, or perhaps you’re into web-design?

If you've ever fancied yourself as a bit of a writer of help pages then here's your big chance. The new Support Library beta means that anyone registered as a Community Site user can create articles about pretty much anything related to Plusnet services, so long as you think it will be of value to the community.

You'll also be able to edit existing articles in a Wikipedia-type way, so we hope that collective brainpower will create some great new help pages.  As you can see we've already started it off. There are some articles we've moved across from the main support site that we think you'd relish getting your hands on.

Please note:

This is released as a beta trial.  It's not without its blemishes and we're looking for plenty of feedback about how you think it could be improved.

How does it work?

As a standard user you'll be able to add new articles (see the guide here) and edit existing ones.  When you submit your changes you won't be able to see the edits go live until they are approved by the Support Library beta moderators.  Your article will remain in draft until the moderators approve it. You can continue to work on your draft either singly or collectively until approval. We've got a small moderation team and will be looking for volunteers to help us with this to make sure all the new content is useful, accurate and correctly assigned to categories.

Things to bear in mind:

1. Keep a local copy of any work you do on your own hard drive. Although we do keep copies of all edits and versions, better safe than sorry. We can't be held liable for losing any of your work.
2. By posting your article you will be given credit as the original author of the piece however by doing so you must agree that this article can be edited at will by others and is subject to moderation.  If you don't agree to release your work to the community in this way then please don't post.
3. It's beta - it won't be perfect.  Please work with us to make it better.
4. If you're stuck, ask for help on the Discussion thread in the Forums.
5. We reserve the right to withdraw the beta Library for maintenance and upgrades as may be necessary.
6. If someone else is editing the article that you want to, please wait until they have logged out.  Any changes you make to an article already being edited won't be saved.

Important notice: Following a software upgrade that took place 25/01/12, the Community Library is currently running with reduced functionality. Whilst you will still be able to view and comment on existing articles, you will not be able to create new content or request edits to existing articles. You may also find that you are sporadically logged out of the Community Library despite still being logged into the forums and main Community Site. When trying to log back in you may encounter a vanilla Wordpress login prompt that does not accept your username/password. We are investigating these problems and hope to have them fixed as soon as we can.
