Re: Very slow broadband

Very important - Is your phone working? Can your hear/have you heard any audible noises on the line - Crackles etc.? Use the Quiet Line Test 17070 Option 2 if need be.

Re: Very slow broadband

Hope you had a good weekend!
I dont have a phone to test the line  Undecided
However i have had a response to say that they are performing a closed loop test, so had to remove the faceplate from the master socket....I hope it gets resolved soon!  Im amazed how many others are having similar issues to me, seems like its getting worse around here?

Re: Very slow broadband

You really need to borrow a corded phone for the duration to check your line, or go and buy a cheapish one for about £5 from places like Argos. Plusnet's tests won't automatically identify an intermittent line fault - only one that is there continuously. If a line fault is not identified and that's the cause (very likely) they will possibly play with BB settings which might result in a slower connection (as if you need that!) or do nothing (couldn't identify any fault) so this will drag on and on.
Intermittent line faults can be a real pain to get resolved. But at least if you can say the line has been crackly and noisy you can report a phone fault.
(PS. Intermittent line faults aren't of Plusnet's making!).
