Technicolor TG582n Fibre Router - USB socket & External HDD

Hello,
Just got fibre installed with PN and noticed the USB slot on the side of the router. I have seen some posts saying you can use it to connect a NAS drive but can I just plug in a standard external HDD and access it over the network.?
Any help setting it up (if its possible) is much appreciated.
Alex

Login to the router web gui and go to ToolBox=>Content Sharing. Make sure the File Server is enabled and set the name and workgroup if required.
Then attach the drive and you should be able to see the File Share on the Network.
Disc must be formatted FAT32 btw, NTFS is NOT supported.
Hope that helps

Excuse me jumping in but it certainly helped me! Many thanks!
How are you getting on PasPer2? Until I read your post I wasn't even aware of the USB port on the side! Wink
Now I've got an otherwise redundant drive attached for networking.  Cool

Thank you very much for the reply.
I never even considered NTFS being the problem. Got the HDD attached and showing in the network. All I gotta do now is find an app so I can stream to the ipad as well.
