Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

Guess I wont bother booking another bt visit  as it is clear what is effecting my speed .42 pound a month for half day fibre that may or may not work great crack !.
I can see pn being forced to cancel my contract soon as the product they have sold me is simply unfit for the purpose..

Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

I agree run187, No point paying out that much for a service we are not receiving, be just as well with adsl2... Either that or I need to find another job working nights so I can utilise the full speed in the day(OFF PEAK), You don't happen to be on the Alsager exchange do you?

Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

Could you run the thinkbroadband speed test - that shows if there is a difference between single and multiple thread downloads.

Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

Hi babble, I'm on the Dalton exchange and the speeds have been poor at best for the last week. Before this speeds where excellent.  If you check out the link below it looks like the fault has been found on the Dalton exchange, so hopefully things will be back to normal soon. Maybe Dave has some more info on the fault, and could give some idea of how long it will take to fix ?

Feel sorry for englishrick and all those on the Kidsgrove and Alsager exchange. Over a week and BT are still 'investigating'. That's an awful lot of 'investigating'.
Still, I've been with Plusnet for a number of years and this is the first problem I've had, and they have been very helpful in the past.

That's pretty much what I was expecting to see with the x6 running at about 6 times the speed.

Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

The cause of the speed problem affecting the Dalton-in-Furness exchange and surrounding areas has been identified and a fix is being planned however there were problems (it needed some new backhaul capacity out of the exchange but the new fibres were dead on arrival) so there's no ETA yet.
The problem at the Garforth exchange has also been identified, a fix is planned for next week and they are trying to bring this forward to be done sooner.
Alsager and Kidsgrove look to be linked, at least for people on fibre, but when I checked yesterday it was still being investigated. We've found a customer on another ISP seeing the same problem (on ADSL2+) and they've been added to the case but if there's anyone else on these exchanges affected would be helpful to know as we don't have as many examples. The Dalton area stands out as the area with the most speed faults but we've only got a handful at Alsager and Kidsgrove although they are across 2 ISPs.

Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

@ Dave - tonyAtplus is on ADSL2+ and the Alsager exchange (his graph is above, but his thread is here - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,122181.0.html)
Mattprince is on FTTC and the same exchange with the same problem - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,121859.msg1057200.html

Re: Speed Problem Yet AGAIN !!!!!!

Just had an update through, BT have found and fixed a problem at Alsager and Kidsgrove this afternoon. Can you let us know if this makes any difference please? I'll update the exchange page to say we're now monitoring.
