Re: SNR Reset please

not at this weekend or xmas period. Probably not until Jan 2nd. There is widespread of no power in uk with flooding. I expecting BT will be dealing with the issues with flooding first priority.
Interesting of this ccSNR reset: https://www.btwholesale.com/shared/document/Library/Technical_Documents_and_Procedures/ccSNR_Reset/c...

Re: SNR Reset please

Downstream SNR has varied between 8 this morning and  0.7 now.  I assume this could be to do with the poor weather conditions, and is something Plusnet cannot do anything about?

Re: SNR Reset please

The changes on the tbb graph where the minimum latency drops could be due to the DLM making adjustments, perhaps reducing the interleaving depth or switching off interleaving. But I can't be sure about that without seeing adsl sync speeds and snr margins before and after.

Re: SNR Reset please

snr 0.6dB ? That's quite too low and unstable

Re: SNR Reset please

I know.  It has been stable at 6 for about 10 days, but changed with the last lot of poor weather.

Re: SNR Reset please

Had yet another disconnect during the night that I only noticed because I am paranoid about it at the moment.  That's 2 in the last 24 hours!

I am concerned that their could be an issue with the line coming from the pole to the house  (Can't see any obvious damage) that is exacerbated by the poor weather recently.
Can someone on the CCT do a radius check?  Don't know why the SNR has dropped so low after holding steady at 6 for over a week?

Re: SNR Reset please

Is there still noise on the phone line when you try into the test socket with a single corded handset? If so then we should report this as a phone fault first as the noise is the likely cause of the broadband issues too.

Re: SNR Reset please

That will be difficult to check as we only have cordless phones now.

Re: SNR Reset please

If there is any noise on the line when using the cordless phone (dial 17070 option 2 for the quiet line test) you will either need to try your phone on another line or get hold of a different phone to establish whether it is the phone or the line.

Re: SNR Reset please

Decided to reboot my router.  Seems to have put the downstream SNR back to 6  Undecided

2 drops in 24hours on ADSL. That's nothing to worry about ;o)

If you're going to reboot the router it's best to do so during daylight hours, there's generally less 'noise' around.
