I raised a fault a week or so ago as my speed had dropped from 5mb down to 0.3mb. After sending in a variety of router stats etc, I had a text message on Monday advising that there were "some settings on our own systems that haven't updated correctly. I've amended these for you."
After giving it 4 hours as instructed and rebooting the router sure enough the speed was back up to around 5mb. That was Monday night. It stayed constant throughout Tuesday, and overnight both nights, but on checking this morning (Wednesday) the speed has dropped again to 0.1mb, and your line speed test is reporting "Estimated line speed:Not recorded (service activated before we introduced estimates).Current line speed: 0.25 Mb" which is back down to the same as when I had the original issue.
So whatever was done to reset this has gone wrong again and I'm once again left with dial up connection speeds.
I've tried ringing the helpdesk but after half an hour waiting for an advisor I thought I might have more joy posting on here. Beginning to wish I hadn't closed the support query now.

Have you run a BT speed test and has the IP Profile gone back to normal?
You need to find out what caused the slow speed sync event and stop it happening. Frequently this is due to an internal problem (e.g. something plugged in to one of the other phone sockets without a filter), but can be a fault on the line.
Do you ever get interference when using the telephone?

The profile on the delta report side is set at 250 at the moment I'm afraid, it looks like there's been a few drops recently which will have dropped the profile.
I suspect the best thing would be to raise another fault (http://faults.plus.net) if it's still dropping with the router in the master socket and all phones removed.

Can you explain any of the drops the log shows? (e.g. you reconnecting)

Jelv, I'll run another speed test when I'm back from work. The disconnected period on Saturday was for a period of time when BT were fixing the line - I'd asked them to check for faults, and apparently I was receiving too much voltage from someone elses line. They told me when it was reconnected later on Saturday, that the line up to my house is now "perfect"
On Monday I'm not sure what the first disconnection was, but that was around the time that Plusnet advised that they had fixed my IP profile. The second one was when I got home from work, and reset the router. Following this one, the IP profile was back to around 4400, and as you can see it stayed constantly connected and downloading at the usual speed I get (around 5mb) until yesterday (Wednesday) around half 12. I have no idea why the three or four rapid disconnections happened there. The one at around 18:30 was when I got home from work and saw the speed had dropped again. I unplugged the router for a few minutes to see if that made any difference (it didn't). I have no idea why the one around 23:00 happened.
Thanks for all the help and advice so far. I'm going to try replacing the phone wire tonight as I've got an old house and the cable used is the old 1950's one. The master socket is quite a way from where it enters the house (around 20 metres), so it's quite a long run, and the cable may be getting frayed where it runs under doors (although I had a look and visually it seems fine). I'm going to replace the cable, and move the master socket so it's only about 5 meters from the entry point. Apart from that, I can't think of any reason why the connection might be dropping.
Cheers
Mark

If the dropped connections were due to the old cable (which admittedly was looking pretty frayed when I pulled it all up), then hopefully this should sort it out.
If someone nice & kind at Plusnet could see their way to resetting my IP profile, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark.

Exactly the same sync speed and a pretty high noise margin. I'm wondering if your connection has been banded.

If this is the case is there any way I can check it? Would it have been BT or Plusnet that sets the upper and lower limits?
Thanks again for all the help so far - I really appreciate it.
