Last week I had to reboot the router and my sync went up to around 5400. After 3 days my profile rose from 4000 to 4500
Since then, I have had resyncs over night yet the router was still indicating being online (LAN, WLAN and WAN) for over 24 hours.
I am now syncing at 5312 yet my profile has dropped to 4000. Latest BT test below.
Could someone have a look at recent resyncs and let me know what is happening, please.

Here's the usual pictorial RADIUS representation:

Not many disconnects there, it might be worth checking the error count as I believe number of errors over a given time can also force a profile change.

I'll check the error count - is there an easier way with the DG834G rather than having to run RouterStats?
But around 10 minutes ago the connection dropped again and resynced at 4352. I now have a prifile of 3500
Edit: Acutally looking at the routers log it seems that the resync probably happened around 11 am as the up time is showing as just over 9 hours. But there was a connection problem a little while ago.
Something must be wrong for this to happen so frequently. I have new filters, comnnected directly to the test socket, etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit2: Did a couple of reboots a few minutes ago as I wa having problems with pages loading and now the sync has dropped to 3776
Maybe tomorrow I'll recoonnect the Thomson to see if that fairs better at holding on to this line.
Below are some RouterStats graphs and latest Router Stats:

Can I have the NM reset - yet again, please.
But, surely, I shouldn't have to keep having this done?

I'll reset it. I don't think we've done it for some time.
Although I'm sure you're aware, as are others who may be reading this, that SNR resets are not a good way of trying to fix issues. Usually, they are best used when a customer has had a fault which has increased the SNR and a reset brings it back to where is should have been. Longer lines, particularly, will function much better with a higher SNR and it is designed to fluctuate to accommodate changes in a line. If there's a fault then resetting the SNR can actually cause more problems, so it's not always a good thing.

We've never established a fault on my line - it just seems that it's stable for a while (weeks, maybe a month or two) then the NM creeps up and stability goes.
I've just reset the router and can see NM back to 6 and sync is a high (for me) 5792. Now I don't expect it to stay that high. Normally the line resyncs back down to around 5400 within a few days and remains there till the next time
Anyway, I appreciate your help and I, too, enjoy the odd rant

I'd just refreshed the High-speed Broadband page to see a profile 5000 before comming here.
You're right and it'll prbably settle down to a 4500 profile in a few days. But that is great - can watch BBC in HD

This happened within the last hour or two but, as you can see from the attached jpg, WAN is still showing an UPtime of almost 7 hours.

You would have thought
Sometime between around 2am and a few minutes ago the router appears to have resynced. It's now at 5856 (wish it would stay there!).
Once again, straingely the WAN, LAN and WLAN all indicate over 25 hours of up tim

Not sure of why the uptime is constant. It shouldn't be if the sync rate changes. Happy with the speed though.

07/10/2011 Synced at 5664
07/10/2011 synced at 5856
07/10/2011 synced at 5024
Can't be sure the actual times. But I do know that sometime prior to these resncs I have received phone calls. But can't say for definitie that they were the cause as after some calls I have immediately checked and could see no sign of any resyncs.

[quote=Latest BT Speedtest] Download speedachieved during the test was - 2889 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1200-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :5024 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 832 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 4000 Kbps

Some time on Sunday it resynced again. This time it's jumped up to 5952! Once again there was no evidence of a resync from the router's stats which now show an uptime in excess of 144 hours.
I ran RouterStats all last night and saw that there were many disconnections over the period (see graphs, but since around 10:30 this morning there haven't been any.
The NM is quite low and still often goes into a very large number again.
Connected directly to test socket in master, recently changed filters, etc. NetGear Dg834G.
Have done a quiet test (17070) and can't hear noises of any kind.
Won't hold my breath at staying at 5952 - would be nice, though

That's very odd. I can only imagine that the resyncs are so quick that neither equipment picks it up. We have a 6-day connection period here.
