Hi
How come my Broadband is showing overnight usage when my Ethernet connected PC was disconnected and the laptop was switched off overnight, it may only be a small amount and there is no charge for it but why does it show I am using it when I am not. Do I need to have my WPS light on on my Thomson Router?

It's back ground usage or chatter between your router and the internet.

@aks
Out of curiosity, you say only a small amount, can you say exactly how much it was on one night where you were not on the internet at anytime between midnight and 0800?
As to your question, well that depends on a couple of things, how good your line is and how far from the exchange you are and what time of day you may switch it on again?

Hi,
You might find this link useful to read: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/usage/vmbu.shtml
On point number 3, there is a small explanation as to why you may have been seeing small amounts of usage overnight, just as dvorak has explained.
