Massive ping

I keep getting huge PINGs and very slow downloads, which do improve after restarting my router, but I have to do this quite often. My most recent test was a PING of 542 on the speedtest website;

http://www.speedtest.net/result/7563096328

And although the figure for download speed ended up as 8.22 (from a promised 15), the graph actually stayed at 0 for several seconds before bumbling around 2-3 and then jumped up to 8 at the last couple of seconds, which is what the final figure ended at.

This means endless buffering when watching things online and extremely slow downloads!

I've already had someone come out to check physically and it improved for a while (up to ~12Mbps), but it has slowed down again recently. Is there anything I can do?

Re: Massive ping

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

Our tests aren't showing any cause for this.

Was there anything running in the background when you carried out these tests?
