Re: Line Banding

...Some months on, how's it going? The same!

Apart from one small difference:

Interesting observation - possibly?

I thought my ADSL link felt subjectively slower today, so I checked it out.

The speed parameters of my (switch it on/switch it off) WBC 7M - 14M banded ADSL link are EXACTLY the same as previously! But, curiously(?), the download SNRM has now, after several months, apparently made its own way back down to a 'normal' 6 dB.

Um... 😊

Re: Line Banding

@pvmb  Probably increased crosstalk from other lines in your cable bundle causing the SNR margin to reduce.

Re: Line Banding

...As you were!

Dslstats revealed bursts of sustained high FEC errors, probably behind the slow downs in response, which prompted me to listen to the line. Bursts of noise told me it was time for the consumer plate in the master socket to have another of its semi-regular 'decokes', which it hasn't had for some time. You'd think I'd know by now! 🙄

Line silent again, though downstream SNRM still under 7 dB presently.
